Description

We are a pair of practical, motivated people with a love for the outdoors! We also both enjoy working with children, Uri as a ski instructor and Anna is a primary-school teaching assistant.
During our quest to find a place to live 4eva, we are keen to help others on their projects and collecting ideas and connections towards our next chapter!

We have experience with a variety of tasks from woodworking to demolition, animal welfare to childcare! Uri is a professional photo- and videographer which has been helpful for almost all of the projects we've volunteered for! Anna has a particular interest in woodworking, wool and sheep, and Uri in intentional communities and social projects.

We are looking for the next place to call home, so we'd love to connect with like-minded people and help community projects. We met each other through WorkAway 4 years ago, volunteering in Belgium and have been together ever since

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Uri:
Education: teaching assistant (for secondary school), ski instructor (Canadian + Austrian Level 2), camp counsellor for 4-10 year olds, taught young people how to build and fly remote controlled planes.
Photo+Video: event photography, music, documentary, B-camera operator for corporate videos + editing (DaVinci Resolve, Premier Pro, Lightroom, Capture One)
Building: comfortable working with wood including electric tools, handy all around. cant juggle but will unicycle backwards and forwards!
Anna:
Craft: woodworking (chairmaking, bodging, joinery), ceramics (throwing and mould-making), polymers (working with petro- and bio- plastics, mould-making, prop-making, plastic recycling), metalworking (light silversmithing and copperwork as well as steel work, some forging experience and MIG and TIG welding).
Design: 3D CAD in Rhino + Sketch-Up, Graphic design (book making, posters etc)
Childcare: experience working as childcare provider/babysitter for children from 9 months old plus

Our stay with Carmen was unfortunately cut short, however for the week or so that we were there, we can recommend this stay to people with an interest in sustainable straw-bale building, container homes and self-sufficiency. I had an incredible time in Lille with Claire and Ronan! The work was super flexible and Claire took care to give me jobs I would enjoy, which I really appreciate!! I truly cannot recommend this workaway enough especially to those searching to improve their French.
