Hi there! I’m a 32-year-old from Italy with a degree in Political Science and International Relations, currently working as a journalist. Over the past few years, I’ve focused on topics related to migration and refugee support, writing in-depth reports and features for national media outlets. Through my work, I’ve collaborated closely with NGOs and grassroots organizations, and after witnessing their efforts from behind the camera and the keyboard, I’ve decided it’s time to get personally involved on the ground.

Beyond my professional background, I’m passionate about traveling and discovering new cultures. I’ve spent time in different corners of the world—including some challenging environments—and I’ve learned to adapt quickly and respectfully to different contexts. I also have a long-standing experience as a basketball coach, working with kids and teenagers of all ages, which has helped me develop strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.

Now I’m looking for an opportunity to follow both my personal and professional calling by contributing to meaningful projects—and that’s what brings me to Workaway!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Throughout my career and personal journey, I have developed a wide range of skills that I believe would be valuable in a volunteering context.

First and foremost, I work as a writer and journalist, which has given me strong communication skills—not only in a professional sense, but also through the diverse experiences I have lived and documented. I am used to interacting with very different audiences, adapting my language and approach to meet various needs and contexts.

Beyond writing, I have solid experience working in teams and leading them. I currently manage an editorial project that involves coordinating about 50 people, balancing leadership and collaboration. In addition, my long background in sports—as both a basketball player and a coach—has strengthened my ability to teach, mentor, and build relationships, especially with children, young people, and vulnerable individuals.

Having gone through some difficult times in my own life, I have developed a deep sense of empathy and sensitivity, which allows me to communicate effectively and respectfully with those who are in need or facing challenges.

In every project I undertake, I bring adaptability, a strong work ethic, and a genuine commitment to making a positive impact.
