Hello everyone!
My name is Alessia, I am an Italian/Swiss 25 year old girl and my greatest passions are languages, travelling and kids. I've been living in Milan and working in a hotel for the past year and I think that an English full immersion is just what I need at this point in my life!

I would describe myself as a very patient person who has a positive outlook on life and I always try to find the silver lining in every kind of situation. I take life as it comes and I am super trustworthy when it comes to believing that everything that's supposed to happen , will happen when the time is right!
I love knowing new people and my most recent job experiences have been amazing from this point of view: I have been working in a couple of hotels and I am so thankful for all the people from all around the world who shared a part of their journey with me!

I've been spending so much time with children throughout my life since I have 6 little cousins and besides that I have been babysitting during my summers in high school and college.
A few years ago, I spent 2 months working as an aupair in the north of Spain, precisely in Galicia. I took care of 2 children and we spent a lot of time in the open and in contact with nature. I've also been an aupair in San Diego last year for 3 beautiful kids (who were 4, 8 and 10) and this experience taught me so much besides being a lot of fun!

I have been a workawayer before and my experiences have been truly amazing, that is why I would love to keep meeting families through this great platform!

I would gladly learn any language you can teach me since I am always into learning as many new things as I can. As far as I am concerned, I can mainly teach you italian and I would love to do that. Since I studied translation at university, I have been taught some techniques that I think could be very helpful. Besides that, I can also teach some spanish if needed! During my last semester I dedicated my time to the creation of subtites for english/american movies and tv shows and it really was an incredible experience that allowed me to be more confident when it comes to explaining spanish or english grammar rules!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

As I mentioned before, I love working with children and spending time with them. I like inventing new activities and games we can play so that we can have a good time and learn new things. When I worked as an aupair in Spain I tried to balance indoor and outdoor activities trying to communicate as much as I could with the kids (who were 6 and 11) so that all the potential issues could be resolved right away.
I love learning new languages and teach the ones I know when I am asked to. I have studied english, spanish and french at school and my first language is italian. I have had the chance to teach some english when I was in Spain during that time as an aupair and besides that occasion, I have also worked in a primery school in Italy providing english classes to 10 year old children: it was a real challenge for both of us but I loved it!

I think that helping and motivating people is one of my qualities. I spent a lot of time with my grandparents growing up and I did basically everything for them, from cooking to cleaning and simply spending the whole afternoon on the porch with them reading a book or chatting about our day. They will always be a cornerstone of the person that I am today and I'll be forever grateful to have had the chance to know them and spend so much time together.

I love animals of any kind. I have only had the chance to have dogs and cats but since I live in the countryside I am basically surrounded by farms of any kind and I can say that I really love this aspect about the place where I live.

Knowing new people and making new friendships is something I am extremely into. As I mentioned before, I worked in a hotel as a waiter and I offered some help as a receptionist when needed. Besides that, I worked in 2 clubs located in the south of Italy, precisely in Apulia, and it was a great way to know a lot of people from the whole country and I am so glad that some of those freindships are still lasting after many years.

I love sports, adventure, extreme sport and adrenaline. Bottom line: I am always down when it comes to do something fun and out of the ordinary.

I like doing things that are out of my comfort zone because I think that I'll have plenty of time to do it in the future. I would say that I am basically an empathetic person, I love listening to people when they speak and also providing them a feedback if they like to, I am very patient and I never lose my temper especially when it comes to children and the elderly who can really challenge you from this point of view, and I am kind and respectful towards everyone ideas and opinions since I have always thought that respect and communication need to be the basis of a good relationship between people.

Something else about me is that I love spending time outdoor and taking long walks especially at the sunset.
I like reading and watching TV shows (my favorite is The Vampire Diaries, I know it's a teen one but it works for me!).
I like board games such as cluedo and scrabble even though I rarely play them. I love listening to podcasts, they literally make me company during the whole day and they are an incredible source of inspiration to me.
I have been dancing for 11 years (modern dance and ballet) and I am really thankful for the people I knew and for the discipline that environment gave me. Right now I am way more into yoga and pilates and I have been practicing them for a couple of years and they are totally my cup of tea.
Travelling has always been one of my greatest passions and I am looking forward to visiting as many countries as I can.
