Description

Hello, I am Yehya, I have recently arrived in Berlin where I now live. I am looking for ways to make connections with people around me, to build community and to learn some German whilst I look for a job.
I spent the last year in Lebanon building a small eco centre in the foothills of the mountains where I also lived with the small communty of both perminant residents and volunteers who passed through. I really enjoyed this time as I was surrounded by nature and I am someone who thrives in community life and living around others.
I have worked in various feilds such as a climbing instructor and route setter, with an NGO also in Lebanon, and in various areas of contruction. For six years I worked with steal structures and metal work in sites building hangars. I really enjoy working with wood, both in carpantry and larger construction but also wittling and creating beautiful things. My time in Lebanon at the eco space taught me a lot in terms of carpentry as I worked closely with the manager, Robert who is also an engineer and taught me a lot. The centre is built using only natural building methods, such as wottle and dorb to build walls and making our own plaster from sand and soil from the ground around us. I love living and working so closely with nature and working sustainably to reduce our impact on the earth around us.
I enjoy art in various forms such as painting and drawing in the past and more recently, I started tattooing on myself and friends.
I am really excited to be in Berlin and develope more as I live with others, learning from them and with them and creating spaces I haven't experienced before. I am a social person, I love being around and working with others, especially from different backgrounds and cultures. Sharing stories and thoughts or just being around each other is something really special to me. I hope to be able to meet more wonderful people here, both from Germany and around the world. Its a bonus if you can teach me some German though!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Metal and steal work - six years working with a construction company building hangers. Skills include welding, cutting, building and more.

Carpentry and woodwork - Just under a year building a small eco centre. Projects included a donkey house from a wooden frame and wattle and dorb, a raised chicked house, outdoor bathrooms, shade structures and wooden tents.

Working with young people - I have worked with young people through climbing when I worked for ClimbAid in Lebanon for 3.5 years, teaching groups and individuals. I also worked with a school set up for integration purposes of the children in refugee camps with the local village. I also have many younger siblings and cousins :)

I am a very artistic person, I love wittling wood, painting, drawing and tattooing, or mostly anything I can do with my hands.
