  • Description

Hi! I'm from China, currently studying journalism in the U.S. I’m passionate about photography, video editing, and dancing—especially Chinese ethnic dance, which I’ve practiced for 14 years. I'd love to share our diverse Chinese culture and even teach you to dance if you're interested!

My camera has been with me for 12 years, accompanying me on trips like when I visited Morocco, where my mom worked in aid. Capturing stories and connecting with people has always been my focus, which is why I study journalism and minor in anthropology.

People sometimes have stereotypes about Asians, like “they’re all A students from top universities.” But here’s a little secret—I didn’t come from an elite school. In my last year of high school, I asked myself: Should I push myself to get into a prestigious university, or follow my own pace—learn comfortably, enjoy life, and go to an average one? I was ultimately convinced by this idea: whether it’s a top school or an ordinary one, there will always be kind and interesting people. Building genuine connections with them is what makes life meaningful—not meritocracy.

There’s a Chinese proverb that says, “Water flows downward, people move upward.” It suggests that while water is bound by natural forces, humans should strive to climb higher. But I don’t entirely agree. Nature gave us legs—not just to climb upward, but to walk in all directions.

I’d be happy to help with photography, video editing, language exchange, cultural workshops, or anything creative. If you love cultural exchange too, I’d love to connect!

By the way, that don't means I am not willing to do daily-life works. Actually, I especially like wiping down surfaces, cleaning windows, and doing the dishes. I don't know why, but I truely just love them!

Plus de détails sur les langues qui m'intéressent
I’d love to teach Chinese—and not just the language, but the culture that comes with it. As a native Mandarin speaker with a strong foundation in Chinese ethnic dance (which I’ve learned for 14 years), I often combine language teaching with cultural elements. For example, when teaching a dance move, I can also explain how geography, lifestyle, and cultural psychology shaped it. Mongolian dance, with its horseback-riding motions and open, firm gestures, reflects life on the vast grasslands and the image of eagles. Tibetan dance often features bent knees, influenced by the high-altitude terrain. If you're curious about Chinese language, movement, and the stories behind them, I’d be more than happy to share what I know in a fun and interactive way. I believe language and culture are deeply connected, and sharing them is the most meaningful way to build understanding. And of course, I’m also eager to improve my English or learn bits of your native language too!
