Description

My partner and I moved to Canada in August (with the IEC visa) to get away from our desk jobs and exploring some beautiful places! Travelling and creating connections with people from around the world is something that brings both of us great joy. We're outdoorsy people, and have loved exploring Canada via hikes, canoeing, backcountry camping and sleeping in the back of our trusty Subaru!


We are currently working in Fernie ski resort, and looking for workaway opportunities for the summer. We'd love to share meals with hosts and other workawayers, and get to know new places through the eyes of locals.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm a physics graduate, and have spent the last 3 years working for IBM as a systems architect in their cloud computing division. I also have experience working with young people as I taught English in a Honduran school for a year. Currently thinking of a career change back to Physics, or staying within tech but moving into environmental sustainability. I love spending time outdoors, complex problems to solve, and getting to know new people and places. I speak intermediate level Spanish, looking for opportunities to improve!

Soy un graduada de física, y he pasado los últimos 3 años trabajando para IBM como arquitecto de sistemas en su división de computación de la nube. También tengo experiencia de trabajo con jóvenes, porque enseñé inglés en una escuela hondureña durante un año. Actualmente estoy pensando que podría cambiar a una carrera de nuevo con Física, o sigo con tecnología pero algo que implica la sostenibilidad ambiental. Me encanta pasar tiempo al aire libre, problemas complicados para resolver, y conocer nuevas personas y lugares. Hablo español de nivel intermedio, buscando oportunidades para mejorar!

As I imagine with most Workawayers, I love to travel, especially getting to know people from all over the world. Though I've loved living the busy london life for the past few years, I'm currently enjoying all the hiking and time to spend in the great outdoors. There are so many mountains to climb! When I'm back in the UK, I'm part of a choir, run and cycle, and spend the rest of my time out dancing, going to live music, or in pubs.

Como imagino es lo mismo con la mayoría de los Workawayers, me encanta viajar, especialmente conocer a personas de todo el mundo. Aunque me ha disfrutado vivir la vida rápida de Londres durante los años pasados, ahora estoy aprovechando todo el senderismo y el tiempo para pasar al aire libre aquí. ¡Hay tantas montañas para escalar! Cuando estoy en Inglaterra, soy parte de un coro, corro y uso mi bicicleta mucho, y paso el resto de mi tiempo bailando con mis amigos, escuchando música en vivo o en pubs.
