Description
Laura & Kalle, originally from Northern Germany and we landed in the Swedish forest 4 years ago with our grey cat Mitosch. After a holiday we fell in love with the country, bought a house (which is actually just a summer house) and just stayed here.
Kalle is an electrician, Laura is a self-employed business psychologist. We LOVE this place here, Mitosch even more. We have a big garden where there's always something to do. We only use wood for heating. The standard may be low here, but the quality of life is extremely high! We invite you to get to know it.
We live very sustainably, holistically and in harmony with nature. And yet modern, with an electric car and fast internet.
Fridhem, the name of our small farm, invites you to come to yourself and listen to yourself.

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
We offer a unique cultural exchange that blends simple, nature-connected living with modern, remote-working life. You'll experience authentic Swedish forest living – peaceful, a little wild, and deeply real – combined with an open and welcoming atmosphere.
Laura is a self-employed, remote-working business psychologist with a broad background in mental health, social media, and online business. Kalle is an electrician, web designer, and IT nerd, passionate about tech and practical hands-on work.
If you’re interested, there’s plenty of opportunity for conversations around psychology, entrepreneurship, remote work, creative projects, technology, and sustainable living.
You’ll have lots of privacy if you want solitude, but also the chance to join us for shared meals, evenings by the fire, discussions about life, slow living, gardening, off-grid solutions, and building a home in nature. We are German but have lived in Sweden for several years and are happy to share what it’s like to create a new life abroad.
It’s a place for slowing down, connecting, exchanging ideas – and maybe finding a few new inspirations along the way.Aide
We're looking for someone who’s happy to be part of a simple, nature-based lifestyle and open to supporting us in different ways, depending on the season and what’s going on around the house. Help might include things like watering and weeding the garden, planting or harvesting vegetables, stacking firewood, painting parts of the house, or helping with small repairs.
In August, we’re also getting married here in Sweden, so if you’re around then, you might help with light wedding preparations – nothing fancy, just simple, hands-on support where needed.
We always aim for a respectful, relaxed atmosphere – this is not a full-time job or anything overly demanding. Just a few hours a day, depending on your energy and the tasks at hand. We really value open communication and want it to be a fair, positive experience for everyone.Langues parlées

The accommodation we offer is a private caravan located next to our small red forest house. The caravan is simple but cozy, perfect for 1–2 people. It has a 140 cm bed, a small pantry kitchen with basic equipment, and space to live independently.
Please note: it’s a very natural and quiet setting. The toilet is a compost toilet outside, and showers are taken using a water canister in our greenhouse. It's definitely a bit adventurous – but many people find it refreshing and grounding.
You’ll have your own private area to relax, work, or enjoy the peace of the forest. If you’re traveling in your own van, there’s also space to park and live in it if you prefer.
Internet is fast and stable (satellite connection), so remote work is absolutely possible.
It's simple, nature-based living – with some modern comforts and a lot of freedom.
We live sustainably and holistically here. We eat three times a day (breakfast with home-baked bread, vegetables at lunchtime and a big meal together in the evening). We invite our guests to all meals, we live vegetarian / with some meat / partly vegan, partly gluten-free. We emphasise the use of as many organic products as possible and our guests always have the opportunity to express food preferences, intolerances and the like. We also have our own kitchen with a fridge where guests can prepare their own meals at any time.Autres infos...
We live very simply here, as is typical in Swedish summer houses. This also means: an outdoor toilet outside (separate toilet, no flushing) and no indoor bathroom, but showering outside is the order of the day.
Can you imagine that or is it a no-go?Informations complémentaires
