Description
Hi! We are a British couple planning to travel around Central and South America for a year or two, and we'd love to meet locals, immerse ourselves in genuine culture, speak Spanish fluently and learn a lot. It's our hope that we can really make a difference to hosts and try out different ways of life. We also hope to volunteer with human rights organisations. Mark has a Masters degree in human rights. He's an experienced teacher with Trinity CertTESOL qualification (Level 5 NVQ) - he taught English in Spain, and teaches in a primary school in the UK for kids with physical and learning disabilities. He's also an experienced carer for adults with disablities. Rose is an editor and creative writing tutor, having worked for 13 years in book publishing, most recently at Penguin. She has excellent English, organising and cooking skills, and loves children and animals. We both enjoy hiking, reading, swimming, surfing, singing, playing guitar and dancing - we're looking forward to practising our salsa!

We can teach English - Mark has a Trinity CertTESOL qualification for teaching English, Rose is an enthusiast and will love making it fun with singing, drama and poetry. We both want to get fluent in Spanish while we're travelling and are learning before we go!

Rose and Mark were great company and helpers. They are both smart, witty, interesting stories and pleasant. Rose is a very talented creative writer and Mark helped out gathering research for a presentation I'm needing for waste management. They took to other jobs, like bottle cleaning, spreading out rocks, and sweeping. I highly recommend them.

Mark & Rose are a lovely couple, they were always very supportive and flexible with all the activities we had in December. They were very kind with our youth and we are so happy we had them for our Enrichment Program at our foundation. And they always had something to play with them.
