Description

I’m 58 years old, a non-smoker, and originally from Nordfriesland in northern Germany. I spent over 20 years living in Hamburg before moving to the Sächsische Schweiz (Saxon Switzerland) in eastern Germany, where I lived for three years – a beautiful time during which nature and hiking became increasingly important to me.

After that, I felt the urge to explore more – to discover new landscapes, cultures, and people. I set off by train, traveling through Prague and Bratislava to Brașov in Romania. I spent a month there, exploring the city, its culture, and the impressive Carpathian Mountains.

Currently, I’m in a small village in Romania, where I’m doing a two-month housesitting stay (May and June), looking after a house, garden, and two dogs and do enjoy it very much.
I also hold a driver’s license, in case that might be needed.

I’m very interested in culture: music plays an important role in my life – especially classical music, jazz, and electronic music. I also enjoy films, visiting museums, and have a passion for visual arts and scientific topics.

I’m a calm, easygoing person who generally gets along well with people and animals – even those with quirks. Openness, mutual respect, and genuine interest are important to me. I’m curious about new experiences, new encounters – and excited to see what’s ahead.

Ich bin 58 Jahre alt, Nichtraucher und komme aus Nordfriesland im Norden Deutschlands. Über 20 Jahre habe ich in Hamburg gelebt, bevor es mich in die Sächsische Schweiz zog. Dort habe ich drei Jahre verbracht – eine schöne Zeit, in der Natur und Wandern für mich immer wichtiger wurden.

Dann wollte ich noch mehr entdecken – neue Landschaften, Kulturen und Menschen kennenlernen. Ich habe mich mit dem Zug aufgemacht, über Prag und Bratislava bis nach Brașov in Rumänien. Dort war ich einen Monat, habe Stadt und Kultur erkundet und vor allem die beeindruckenden Karpaten kennengelernt. Aktuell bin ich in einem kleinen Dorf in Rumänien und mache dort für zwei Monate (Mai und Juni) ein Housesitting – mit Haus- und Gartenbetreuung sowie der Versorgung von zwei Hunden, was mir sehr gut gefällt.
Ich habe einen PKW-Führerschein, falls das irgendwo gebraucht wird.

Ich bin kulturell sehr interessiert: Musik spielt eine große Rolle in meinem Leben – besonders klassische Musik, Jazz und elektronische Musik. Ich sehe gern Filme, besuche Museen, interessiere mich für bildende Kunst und naturwissenschaftliche Themen.

Als ruhiger, entspannter Mensch komme ich in der Regel gut mit Menschen und Tieren zurecht – auch wenn sie ihre Eigenheiten haben. Offenheit, Respekt und gegenseitiges Interesse sind mir wichtig. Ich bin neugierig auf neue Erfahrungen, neue Begegnungen – und freue mich auf das, was kommt.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I’m currently doing a housesitting stay in a small Romanian village – taking care of a house, garden, and two dogs. I really enjoy this type of work and will continue doing it throughout May and June.

Tasks like looking after a home and animals, watering plants, and doing light gardening are things I can well imagine doing in future stays as well.

I can also see myself helping out with everyday support: as a companion, assisting with shopping, household tasks, or occasionally driving – I have a valid driver’s license.

I’m a trained merchant and have worked in purchasing and sales, and for the past ten years in customer service.

When it comes to manual skills, I’ll be honest: I’m happy to take on small tasks, but I don’t have much experience and wouldn’t call myself particularly skilled in that area. That said, I’m reliable, open to learning, and happy to help with a variety of tasks – as long as they’re within a relaxed and flexible schedule.

Aktuell mache ich Housesitting in einem kleinen rumänischen Dorf – mit Haus-, Garten- und Hundebetreuung. Diese Art von Tätigkeit gefällt mir sehr gut. Ich werde sie auch für die Monate Mai und Juni weiterhin übernehmen.

Solche Aufgaben – also sich um ein Zuhause und Tiere zu kümmern, Pflanzen zu gießen und kleinere Gartenarbeiten zu erledigen – kann ich mir auch für zukünftige Aufenthalte gut vorstellen.

Zusätzlich kann ich mir vorstellen, im Alltag zu helfen: als soziale Begleitung, beim Einkaufen, im Haushalt oder auch gelegentlich als Fahrer – ich habe einen PKW-Führerschein.

Ich bin gelernter Kaufmann und habe in der Einkaufsabteilung sowie im Vertrieb gearbeitet – in den letzten zehn Jahren war ich im Kundenservice tätig.

Was handwerkliche Fähigkeiten betrifft, bin ich ehrlich: Kleine Aufgaben übernehme ich gern, aber ich bin keine besondere handwerkliche Begabung und habe in dem Bereich auch nicht viel Erfahrung. Dafür bin ich zuverlässig, lernbereit und offen für viele verschiedene Aufgaben – solange sie in einem entspannten Rahmen und mit flexibler Zeiteinteilung stattfinden.
