Description

Hey there! I am Helene, I live in Switzerland and I am 30 years old. I am in the middle of a sabbatical year from Summer 2024 until Summer 2025. The first three months I was in the Swiss mountains and helped in a little restaurant, because that is something I always wanted to do. After that I travelled to Greece and Sicily, where I made great Workaway-experiences and learned a lot for example about the olive harvest. Now I am really looking forward to exploring the other part of Southern Europe (Spain, Portugal, ...) and Morocco , seeing new countries and landscapes, learning new skills, making new experiences, getting to know new cultures and ways of living and meeting new people. I think, Workaway is a great possibility for doing that and at the same time doing something useful and helping out.
I am a rather quiet, but friendly, reliable, curious and open-minded person, who is also motivated to learn new things.I like being in nature, I am interested in sustainability, I am fond of animals and I don't mind working hard and helping with everything, that comes around.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Since I was about 12 years old, horses are a big part of my life. I started taking riding lessons and soon I spent a lot of my free time in the stable and was helping out. It always wasn’t just about riding but more about being with horses and spending time with them. I helped during the vacation programs with the children and in the regular riding lessons. I had horses that I was taking care of and since I was 18, I had two old horses, that before worked in the riding lessons. I learned a lot from both of them and I tried to find out, what they need to be happy and healthy for as long as possible. Now I don’t have an own horse anymore, but I’m taking care of some. I would be keen to help out with taking care of horses and other animals (I grew up with a cat and a dog, and a lot of love for wild animals like hedgehogs, birds etc. in the garden ;-)) and to share my experiences and also learn more about it.
I also like to keep my plants, herbs, flowers and vegetables flourishing on my balcony. But here I just taught my skills myself, so there is a lot of room for improvement and I would also like to learn more about working in a garden or on a field.
In general, I like to work/ make things with my hands and craft or just be creative.
