Heya dear reader,
we're Oskar and Felix from the middle of Germany. Currently, we are taking a gap year together to travel Europe and discover what's out there. We already attended a diverse range of volunteer opportunities this year and prior. In the process, we got to know a lot of beautiful people and crafts - which is why we are so happy to have the time to travel.

We are kind of a portable comfort zone for each other. That makes traveling for us easier, but it also makes opening up to a new group more difficult sometimes.

But we're still very different personalities and travel for different reasons. If you're interested, feel free to read about us below ☀️

Oskar:
I graduated from highschool this year and was suddenly faced with the choice of how to continue. I didn't feel like I had seen enough in the years I was at school. Me and Felix became a couple a few months before that and it luckily turned out that he had the same issue as I did. So we decided to travel Europe together and get to know what's out there this way. I attended work camps in my holidays prior and had some wonderful experiences there. I learned to build with clay in Germany and with dry stone in the French Alpes.

However, it was always difficult for me to connect with new groups of people - a problem that I'm still working on. But Felix is kind of my social safety net, which makes these kinds of situations easier for me. I just have to take care not to stay with him all day - I want to get to know new people on my travels after all.

Felix is taking a break from university and fulfilling a teenage dream of his as we're going to travel around Europe. Possibly, after that year, he'll finish his studies. Alternatively, he might do something different.

Together as a couple, we're happy to share this special time with each other. ☀️

Oskar: I'm interested in learning French and Spanish. I've had French lessons at school but never got to speak it on my own. So that's something I'd like to achieve. If you want to know anything about German, I might be able to help as well ;) Felix: I've always been interested in learning other languages both from a linguistic and a cultural view. Since the majority of my family is working in the educational sphere, I guess teaching others one thing or another about languages is in my blood.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Oskar:
2024 I helped to build a dry stone hut in the French alpes during a workcamp there. 2023 I participated in a workcamp in Germany, where we reinforced a small building with clay.
So I know how to build with dry stone and clay. I've also got some experience in organic farming.

Besides these crafting skills, I know my way around the piano, the guitar, the accordion and the clarinet. In my free time I like to make music and sing.☀️

Felix:
Since early childhood, I have played the piano and sung in a choir. Quite recently, I have taken an interest in playing the accordeon. Mostly I like to learn languages and learn about them as I do with many other things like history

We both like to sing and play accordion together.
