 - Information de voyage- Actuellement, je suis - en voyage
 - Description- Hello!
My name is Olivia, and I’m thrilled to be a part of the Workaway community. For a long time, I’ve dreamt of combining travel with meaningful work—learning new things while also sharing my own skills and experiences with others.
 Recent Experiences;-
Boat Redesign Project, Portugal (Setúbal – Peniche) June 25
Contributed to the redesign of a sailboat for commercial use, applying design knowledge to a variety of tasks both onboard and ashore. Gained hands-on experience in practical problem-solving, teamwork, and adapting creative skills to a nautical context.
Hostel Volunteer, Ericeira, Portugal July / Sep
Volunteered for two months in a surf town hostel, welcoming and checking in guests, hosting BBQs and events, and independently managing the hostel three evenings per week. Developed organizational, hospitality, and interpersonal skills in a dynamic environment.
Art Workshop Facilitator, Ericeira, Portugal July / Sep
Designed and led interactive art workshops for a boutique, including vase-painting sessions and watercolor classes. Combined creative expertise with communication skills to engage diverse participants in hands-on artistic activities.
Personally I have a deep passion for travel, sports, photography, art, and animals. I also enjoy DIY projects and love hosting gatherings. During the summer months, you’ll often find me outdoors—running, surfing, paddleboarding, or hiking (usually picking flowers along the way for the dinner table!). In the evenings, I enjoy cooking and hosting dinners for friends and family.
I come from a large, close-knit family and have experience caring for children of all ages, from infants to teenagers. I also frequently dog-sit and plan to welcome a dog of my own soon, so I’m very comfortable around pets.
In the winter, I try to ski as often as I can. Otherwise, I enjoy staying cozy indoors with a homemade hot chocolate, painting or knitting. I love to cook, so if you ever need a helping hand in the kitchen, I’m happy to step in.
I would describe myself as cheerful, easygoing, and full of positive energy. I truly enjoy helping others and living a life filled with creativity, connection, and laughter.
I’m looking forward to new adventures ahead and to being part of meaningful cultural exchange through Workaway!

 - Quelles sont vos compétences ?- I have over five years of experience in the hospitality industry, where I hosted and organized corporate events at my local football club. My role involved a wide variety of tasks—from event planning and coordinating to serving tables, cleaning up, and even washing dishes at the end of the evening. In addition, I worked for three years in two local pubs, gaining hands-on experience as both a barmaid and server. I truly loved working in hospitality; it was a fun and fulfilling time in my life, driven by my passion for meeting new people and providing great service.
Afterward, I completed my degree in Textile Design at Loughborough University, which led to a seven-year career in London as a fashion buyer. This fast-paced, high-pressure role taught me valuable skills in business, procurement, design, and managing tight deadlines. Alongside my full-time job, I nurtured my creative side by launching a small business on Instagram and Etsy, selling hand-painted watercolor artwork—a craft I developed through both school and university.
I’m also a lifelong animal lover and have often looked after neighbors’ pets. While I’m currently planning to get a dog of my own, I’ve been happily spending my spare time dog-sitting, which has been such a joyful and rewarding experience.

 - Autres infos...- In addition to my professional experience, I’ve gained a great deal of hands-on knowledge through managing my own home. I previously owned a small flat, which I thoroughly enjoyed renovating. This included redecorating the kitchen—tiling, replacing cupboards—damp-proofing and replastering walls, and even building outdoor furniture from pallets. I also loved hosting dinner parties for friends and family, and I take great pride in my cooking and hospitality. A selection of images showcasing this work is included in my profile.
I would describe myself as a cheerful, positive, and enthusiastic person who’s always ready to take on new challenges. I genuinely hope you enjoy my profile and that I might be the addition your team is looking for.
