Hello hosts and workawayers, we are Oliver(23) and Tara(22) from a small beautiful town called Killarney in the south west of Ireland excited to start our next adventure around Asia.

Currently we are working on the Isle of Skye, Scotland saving to travel south east Asia and Japan from September to December 2025.

We have traveled with Workaway before which lasted 8 months allow us to work and volunteer in so many amazing places and meet so many amazing people as well as seeing and experiencing so many unique cultures and locations. We have done many volunteering as well as paid workdays in countries such as Italy, France, Germany, Czech Republic and Scotland.

Though we come from a beautiful quant Irish town we have always felt the need to explore the world and experience new things. Workaway is helping us achieve this goal while allowing to provide our skills and experience to those who need it. We have partaken in various types of Workaways from renovating and rebuilding a stone tower in Italy to working in a hotel in Germany just to name a few.

I(Oliver) is mostly experienced in kitchen work trained by a Neapolitan chef. I have progressed to the point of running whole kitchens in my home town and even when traveling. I have a strong passion for design, photography, drawing as well as hiking, reading and music. In 2026 I aim to begin architecture school. Passion for travelling has come about after meeting Tara my girlfriend of 2 years and we have been travelling together ever since. I haver always been fascinated with Asia cultures particularly that of Japan and Thailand. Philosophy is a major aspect of design and I feel the Japanese seem to get it right. From Zen temples and their garden to the busy trading streets Japan is my no1 travel destination and is no wonder so many designers and architects find so much inspiration there. As well as the design and philosophical side I also have a strong interest in building, renovation, DIY projects and gardening(particularly zen gardens).

I (Tara) have most of my experience in hospitality. I have worked as a waitress since I was 19 and I'm now a supervisor in a very high volume pizzeria in the Isle of Skye. Travelling has been a dream of mine since I can remember, my favourite channels on TV growing up were of nature and travel. Its always fascinated me how this one world can be so vast in culture and its been something I've always craved to find out more and that's lead me to my goal of seeing and experiencing the world. I have a passion for food, trying new cuisines excites me, even the food that doesn't look to appetising (compare to a good old potato anyway). I love to meet new people (especially kids) and even better I love to meet new animals. In the future I hope to be a primary school teacher, and teach the new generation about the amazing world we live in with endless opportunity.
