Hi everyone, I am Jerom, 33 years old and consider myself a very nature minded person. i worked in Nature management & education for the past 10 years and have learned a lot about plants, animals and the natural system. I love spending time away from al the luxury and digitale media that we've gotten used to. I also find it really hard not to get distracted by these things.
After workawaying from 2022 to 2024 i'm went back to the Netherlands to work, i'm looking to spend my summer holiday workawaying.
I dream of owning a piece of land in a hidden valley somewhere, making a life of my land. Growing my own supplies, but also generate enough profit to buy the things i cant grow. For me money is a means to an end, not a goal in itself.

I'm a easy going and laid back, physically and mentally fit and used to being outside all year in any weather.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Lots of practical outdoor skills which i've carried out professionally including:
- working with chainsaw & brush cutter, driving small tractors, building and maintaining fence, creating ponds, composting, planting, pruning, horticulture, permaculture, plant identification, grassland & (food)forest management.
- I'm used to working with voluteers, one of my biggest passions is to teach people about the natural environment around them. Thats why i love to work in a setting where people meet and interact with nature.
- Experienced in outdoor teaching children from 8 years old, also children on the autism spectrum.
- Guiding nature tours in English or Dutch.

Personal interests:
General woodworking and building small wooden structures (chicken coops, pergola's,)
Making beers & cider

Some skills i want to develop the next few years:
- Canning and preserving food
- Water system management
- How to make tinctures, salves etc.
- Soap making
- Vegetable garden planning

Autres infos...

My biggest hobby are reptiles, especially snakes. In my spare time i love to try and find them in the wild and photograph them. I've found almost every species of snake in Europe allready.
Drinking a beer with some friends around a campfire is the best way to spend an evening.
I also like some time on my own just to read or listen to music.
