Maya:
What motivates me most is growing by trying new stuff and stepping out of my comfort zone. I love traveling, meeting new people, and discovering how they live. Staying active, especially through calisthenics, is super fun for me because I move my body, get stronger, learn new skills, and stay healthy all at once. Cooking and experimenting with new recipes also make me happy since it’s a creative way to share with others. Overall, I’m all about making the most out of every experience and seeing where life takes me.

Flo:
I am a French engineering student set to graduate in September. Before starting my career, I want to take some time to fulfill my dreams and travel the world. Traveling is both a passion and a way for me to step out of my comfort zone, meet new people, and immerse myself completely in new experiences and cultures. Sport is my biggest passion. I practiced football for years and love following every game of my favorite team. I also spent a year playing handball, enjoy climbing from time to time, and love discovering new sports. I believe sports play an essential role in building confidence, mental resilience, and self-improvement. Recently, I started calisthenics and street workout after several years of gym training, and I love how this sport challenges me to push my limits, see progress, and learn new skills. I also enjoy being in nature through hiking, which gives me a deep sense of freedom. Cooking is another interest of mine, especially baking healthy recipes. Music is always part of my daily life. I listen to a wide variety of genres and am always eager to discover new songs. I see Workaway as the perfect opportunity to combine my passion for travel with meaningful experiences, discover new skills, improve my language abilities, and contribute in any way I can to the people who welcome me.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Maya:
I studied Business Psychology and have worked in gastronomy and HR, so I’m used to working with people and keeping things running smoothly. I’m pretty laid-back and like to adapt as things come up, instead of sticking to a rigid plan. I also have a good sense for writing job applications and enjoy listening to people in my surroundings with empathy, offering impulses and gentle guidance to help them work through their challenges.
Creativity is a big part of my life. Whether it’s drawing, painting, crafting, sewing, or building something with my hands, I love watching ideas take shape and turn into finished projects. I’ve got a good eye for design and interior decoration, and I enjoy making spaces look great and feel comfortable.
When it comes to physical work, I’m all in. Whether it’s fixing or building something, I actually enjoy the hands-on challenge of making things work again.
Cooking is another area I’m passionate about. I like preparing healthy meals that keep me feeling good and energized, and I love inspiring others to try healthier options and enjoy food that fuels the body.
I’ve also worked as a live-in supervisor and point of contact for kids and teens during language trips to Malta. With some psychology knowledge and a lot of empathy, I’m good at understanding people’s feelings and needs, which helps me connect with them and support them in a genuine way.
I also have a green thumb and love being around animals and nature in general. My home is filled with plants, and I enjoy gardening as well as taking care of my plants and watching them thrive.
Languages are another area where I can help. I’m a native German speaker, fluent in English, and I’m currently learning Spanish. I’d be happy to help anyone get started with the basics of German or English.
Overall, I’m reliable, easy-going, and always curious to learn new things. I’m excited to take on challenges, bring positive energy, and contribute my skills wherever they’re needed.

Flo:
I am a junior engineer with a Master’s degree in Automation and Electronics, specialized in Embedded Systems. My studies have given me strong skills in programming, embedded systems, electronics, and electrical work, and I love creating projects that involve these aspects. During my studies, I built an automatic pet food dispenser, and I’m always thinking about new DIY and embedded system projects that I could do if I had the time like designing an automatic mower or an electric scooter. I enjoy working on creative technical solutions and can assist with similar projects. I know how to work in teams and enjoy collaborating with others.

While my expertise is technical, I’m also comfortable with physical work. In the past, I’ve worked as a removal man and have experience in gardening, including hedge trimming and mowing with both push and tractor mowers. I speak fluent French and English, have basic knowledge of Spanish and Italian, and am currently learning German. Thanks to my field of studies, I have a strong background in Math, Sciences, Physics, and Informatics, and I’d be happy to help teach these subjects as well as languages.

I’m skilled with computers and smartphones and always help my grandma with tech issues. On another note, I enjoy hiking, playing football, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle through sports and cooking nutritious meals. Growing up with two younger siblings, I also know how to take care of kids and babysit.

Additionally, I have a passion for animals, especially dogs, as I had a dog for 14 years. I love taking care of them, playing with them, and training or educating them. I enjoy being around animals in general and would love to help with animal care. I also play guitar and I could try to teach it to others.

I’m a fast learner, open to new experiences, and always eager to help out, whether it’s with technical projects, practical tasks, or simply sharing knowledge.
