Description
Hi! We’re Matteo & Alice – an Italian couple passionate about travel, people, nature and meaningful life experiences.
We’ve been together for many years and recently decided to redesign our lives around slower travel, cultural exchange and authentic human connections. Workaway feels like the perfect way to do that.
Matteo is outgoing, energetic and naturally sociable. He speaks fluent English, Spanish and Italian, loves meeting new people and adapts very easily to new environments. He has travelled to almost 50 countries, often solo, and feels especially connected to the ocean, boats, marine life and outdoor adventures. He enjoys practical work, dynamic environments and anything involving nature, hospitality or teamwork.
Alice is warm, reliable and thoughtful. She brings calm energy, organization and attention to detail wherever she goes. She loves animals, beautiful spaces, meaningful conversations and creating a welcoming atmosphere around her. Together, we balance each other very well: one more adventurous and spontaneous, the other more grounded and attentive.
Professionally, we also run a hospitality business in Italy managing short-term rentals through Airbnb and Booking, so we are very comfortable with guest relations, cleaning standards, organization, communication and problem solving.
We are respectful, adaptable and easy to live with. We understand the importance of shared spaces, good energy, trust and clear communication. We’re not looking just for accommodation, but for experiences, people and places that leave a mark on us.
We’re especially drawn to nature, ocean life, sustainable projects, hospitality, animals, community experiences and places with strong human energy.

I bring a versatile set of skills, a strong work ethic, and a friendly attitude to every place I go.
• I speak fluent English, Spanish, and Italian, which makes me very comfortable in international and multicultural settings.
• I’m extremely sociable, communicative and open-minded – I genuinely enjoy being around people from all cultures and backgrounds, listening to their stories and sharing mine.
• I hold a nautical license and have experience as a skipper. I love the sea, navigation, and everything related to marine life.
• I’m used to physical work and staying active: from gardening and carrying materials to helping in hospitality or assisting with daily tasks.
• I’ve worked in healthcare and fast-paced environments, which taught me to be reliable, focused and adaptable.
• I’ve also founded and successfully sold two businesses, which gave me valuable experience in organization, problem-solving and taking responsibility.
• I enjoy creating a clean, welcoming environment and working closely with others as part of a team.
• I’ve travelled to almost 50 countries, and every new place has helped me grow. I learn quickly, adapt easily, and bring positive energy to every project.
