Hello there, I'm Mariza, 46 years old and was born in Manila Philippines, but I live almost all my adult life in Amsterdam.

My love for travelling seems to be growing each year and explore what life has to offer and help me grow as a person.Spent 6 months traveling in South America back in 2016 and before that epic trip I climbed the highest free standing mountain in Africa, Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Seeing the first sunrise of the New Year was unforgettable.
I'm a hard worker and always eager to learn new skills. In addition I'm also a team player, possess great sense of humour and very easy going.
Love traveling, I find that this is best way to learn about life through the people you meet along the journey and circumstances thrown at you outside your comfort zone. Best way to develop and get to know yourself better.

During pandemic, I dived deeper into personal development. In the meantime, I am now a Holistic Lifestyle Coach, Certified Yin Yoga teacher, Nutritional Coach and Ayurvedic. Massage Therapist :)

Speaks multiple languages: English, Dutch and Tagalog. and basic Spanish. I'm professional Supply Chain Analyst, excellent planning skills. Enjoy cooking. I work in multi cultural company and been exposed and love working with different cultures . I am able to teach Yin Yoga and can share learning about holistic lifestyle with Ayurveda

Unfortunately this fell through. Their long term volunteer decided to stay longer and therefore I wasn't welcomed to join anymore. I had all my tickets booked when this was shared with me. Mariza stayed with us for about 3 weeks and her presence was absolutely amazing. She was teaching yoga and helping in the preparation of the food. She is calm, mindful and always keen to help and serve for the benefits of the group. Her help and advices where coming from a deep place and she doesn't hesitate to take initiatives.

I stayed a week in Jan's and Kathleen place and days flew so fast and before I know it, it was time to leave this beautiful and peaceful land.
I spent my first couple of days in the garden weeding which I thoroughly enjoyed. Being out in the nature was so refreshing and really therapeutic. especially nowadays where we sit most of our time behind… read more our laptops, this change of scenery was a breath of fresh air ( literally! :)). I also enjoyed cooking for fellow work awayers who were very appreciative in whatever what served on the table. Aside from this, cleaning and prepping the rental houses they were renting was also part of the tasks. Jan and Kathleen left for yoga workshop and during their absence I acted as their paying guest host on their behalf which was a nice experience too. On my last day, it was on my list to fed the chickens and cats too and I was so worried I gave the chickens the wrong food where they might choke up ( killing chickens on my last day was NOT on my to do list hahaha, luckily Jan was very prompt in replying to my text reassuring I gave the right food pffff ..what a relief! :))

During my stay I also get introduced to Kundalini thanks to Jan's class and highly recommend to join his class when there is a spot if you are new to this as well.
So many fun activities that you can do during your free time here as mentioned in the feedbacks left by the other workawayers so I wont repeat it. In general, you will not get bored ;-) . we even allocated a ' picnic area' where we chilled, had our picnics , took our siestas and / or just chat sitting under the tree enjoying the shades its provides when the afternoon sun is at highest peak.
Truly, a wonderful time spent here and Jan and Kathleen are very generous hosts with kind & trusting hearts . and I think this is their strengths in building a strong work awayers community judging by the positive feedbacks on their profile.

Some functional / logistical info: the common space where the workawayers are staying can be very crowded at times especially when the caravans are also booked by paying guests since they also use the same kitchen and bathroom / toilets. I hope this will not be a deal breaker for you should you consider coming here, because spending time here is really worth it especially if you get to work with an amazing fellow work awayers which made my stay here extra enjoyable and memorable and therefore special shout out to Lore, Zee , Dee and Santi.
To Jan and Kathleen, wishing you more love and light and may all your plans and dreams in transforming your land into how you imagined it may soon materialise.
