Thank you Laura for your presence.
Laura came at our place with peacefulness and a genuine intention to be helpful. She took care of the afternoon Yin yoga class, helping our students to quieten their mind and learn to be at ease with themselves.

I had the chance to volunteer here, a beautiful and calming place in a small town in the South of France. I helped out in the kitchen, did some household chores and I taught the afternoon yoga classes. There was a fair balance between work and personal time. During the retreat Quentin was very kind and checked in regularly with us how everything

The volunteers could also attend the daily meditation sessions and (it depends on the cooking schedule) some yoga classes. The combination of going inwards during these practices and helping out was a humbling experience (in the positive sense of the word ;) ). I learned a lot about myself and my proper functioning. The yoga teaching was also a beautiful opportunity for me to work daily with the same group, to grow as a teacher and to sink deeper in the practice with the group day after day.
I really liked the set up of the retreat. It was a non commercial retreat which shows that Quentin is also living according the ancient yogic and vipassana philosophy. During the retreat the main goal was going inwards, finding serenity and learning about the ancient traditions.
Quentin and Médéric were great hosts. They are warm hearted and nice people. Before and after the retreat we shared breakfast and dinner together. We had great conversations and a great time.
I left more connected to myself, to my body and with a clearer mind.
Thank you very much for this rich experience!

Dear Irene,
It was an absolute pleasure to have you within our team this summer. You brought genuine enthusiasm, light and laughter to the place. I enjoyed my stay here and had the opportunity to teach yoga which was great since I recently completed my Teacher Training.
Quentin was very well organised and it is clearly assigned daily who does what and when. Plenty of time to rest and relax and of course to join the meditation, yoga and yoga philosophy lectures.
It is handy if you
… read more understand and speak French so you can fully immersed in the retreat when guests are only French speakers, but dont let this stop you. You will still feel / experience the energy in this retreat if you are open to it. I was lucky to be present in the 1st week already where the classes were held in English so I had already an idea about the classes when the new group/guests arrived who were native speakers. Quentin ( the host) is always happy to share his knowledge so you dont feel like you are missing out.
Some practical tips:
1) there is no WI-FI here ( if you are a digital nomad you have to rely on your own data during your entire stay. I stayed for almost 3 wks and almost used up my data and didn't manage to do what I wanted to do for my own work)
2) You will share your room with other volunteers ( gender specified)
3) No cafés in the area to entertain yourself outside the temple.
4) Ask for full schedule of the retreat before committing and have chat /call with Quentin so you can both manage expectation
5) Bring mosquito repellent
Other than that this oasis is a place to rest and rejuvenate be with your self again. The people I met, the guests, fellow volunteers and hosts were all amazing.
Thank you Quentin and Mederique for welcoming me in your lovely home.

She is a talented artist and helped us taking pictures and videos for our communication campains. Just because she loves it and does it passionately from the heart.
Eden easily talks about the things that have to be said and inspire everyone to talk with truthfulness and respect.

This was my second Workaway experience, and it was absolutely amazing!
Quentin and Mederiek (Quentin's father) were amazing hosts, and I had a beautiful two weeks in the temple.
About my experience:
My time in the temple was a special experience for me. I decided to do this Workaway because I wanted to learn to be more present and to take a
… read more break from my busy university life. And I can tell you, this was the right place too go. Quentin allowed all the volunteers to also participate in the retreat during their time off, and this was great. I was a relative beginner at yoga and meditation. The yoga lessons, meditation sessions, and lectures that Quentin taught during the retreat gave me a good, solid base for a stronger at-home practice and a deeper understanding of the meaning behind yoga. Sometimes the meditation was a bit challenging, but it was so worth it! I managed to experience a few moments of intense peace during these two weeks, and I'm so grateful for this.
During the time in between the retreats, there was also time for fun and team building. We had dinner together every night and would play cards and share stories. And besides all the seriousness, there was also a lot of laughter in the team, which was lovely. Every volunteer was appreciated for their qualities, and there was a space to be together but also space to be apart during the day and enjoy your alone time.
During the retreat, the vibe of the team was more concentrated and serious, and everyone did their best to create a good experience for the guests.
About the hosts:
Quentin and Mederiek were excellent hosts. They made sure everyone was comfortable. I felt very welcome and appreciated by them during my stay. During the retreat, we would have a short 'staff meeting' after the last meditation session so that all the volunteers had a moment to voice any questions, discomforts, or any other comments. During our dinners together, I also got to know Quentin and Mederiek on a personal level, and they are both wonderful people. I have a warm place for both of them in my heart.
About the accommodation:
The house is beautiful! It has a wonderful peaceful atmosphere and a lot of nice places to relax and unwind. I fell in love with the garden and the hammocks. Mederiek has his own fruits and vegetables garden as well, so if you are lucky and you come in the right season, you will be able to enjoy some nice, fresh, self-grown fruits and vegetables.
As a volunteer, you stay on the same floor of the house where the guests sleep. I shared a room with two other volunteers. The room is simple and has everything you need: a nice bed, a nightstand, and a closet for clothes. All guests and volunteers share three bathrooms—two upstairs and one downstairs.
About the help:
My task as a volunteer was to help cook during the retreat week and to help clean up in between retreat weeks. I also took some new photos for the website of the temple. The working hours were fair and organized clearly. There was a good schedule, so it was clear what everyone's tasks were for the day. Every volunteer helped about 2 to 3 hours per day during the retreat, and before or after your shift, you had the chance to participate in the Yoga retreat yourself. In between retreats, there was less work to do, so we all had a bit more time off to relax and read or take a walk, etc.
Overall, I experienced this Workaway to be super well-organized. There was a clear cookbook with all the instructions that you needed to follow in order to cook the meals during the retreat. While cooking, I was surprised every time by how good of a meal you can make with such simple ingredients.
To sum it up: if you are also looking for a place to learn more about meditation and yoga, work as a volunteer in a nice team, meet great people, and are willing to surrender yourself to the lessons the meditation and yoga practice will give you. I one hundred percent recommend this Workaway.
Lots of love and a big hug,
We stay in contact ,
Eden
