Hi! I’m Lykka, 19 years old and from Germany.

I’m curious about the world, passionate about traveling, and excited to meet new people, cultures, and ways of life. I speak German, English, and a bit of Spanish – and I’m very eager to learn more languages along the way!

In my free time, I love being active. I regularly train at the gym, play badminton, and I used to have a horse share until recently. I also enjoy swimming and diving especially in the sea. Besides that, I’m an avid reader and always open to new ideas and adventures.

I took part in an Erasmus exchange program where I stayed with a host family on Mayotte for 10 days. That experience showed me how enriching and meaningful life in a host family can be. I really grew fond of the people there. I’m still in touch with my host mother and even visited her again this May.

I’m always happy to lend a hand, whether it’s helping around the house, in the garden, or supporting different kinds of projects. I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty and I know some basic cooking skills, though I’m keen to improve and learn new recipes, especially local ones!

My friends would describe me as open-minded, adventurous, kind, and full of energy. I love meeting new people and sharing stories and experiences. My goal is to travel to as many countries as possible within a year. I’m especially drawn to Oceania because I’m fascinated by the islands, the ocean, and the tropical climate.

I’d be happy to help others learn German or English – whether through conversation, tutoring, or casual practice. At the same time, I’m very interested in learning new languages myself. Right now, I’m especially curious about Japanese and Norwegian, but I’m definitely open to discovering other languages and cultures as well!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I’m happy to help with household tasks like cooking simple meals, cleaning, and doing laundry. I enjoy being part of daily routines and learning new things along the way.
I have experience with children. Igrew up with a sister 10 years younger than me and had a 12-year younger host brother during my Erasmus exchange. I also gave tutoring in English and German to a 10-year-old and would love to offer help with language learning or schoolwork.
Although I’m new to gardening, I really enjoy being outdoors and am eager to help with any garden work. I’m also happy to assist with animals! I have experience with horses from a long-term horse share, chickens, a cat and I’m comfortable around dogs too.
In my last Workaway I worked in a guesthouse where I made beds, cleaned bathrooms, checked in guests and answered the phone, so I already have some experience with that kind of work.
I’m open-minded, quick to learn, and excited to support wherever I can, whether on a farm, in a family, or in other types of projects.
