  • Description

I'm a very curious person with a huge pallete of different interest, so even before I started my new nomadic life I've tried myself in very different jobs. First let's mention the job I went to school for: forest engineering. If you don't know what it is, I don't blame you. Basically walking through the forest thinking how it could be better in every possible way and then taking some measures to implement your ideas. That was fun, but not very stable as any "real" job in my country. So, waiting in between some projects I used to work as waiter, bartender, painter, construction worker, book seller, night watcher, adrenaline park instructor, refugee crisis volunteer, kitchen assistant, bicycle delivery, store seller etc... Dozens of jobs. Some data entry, working on printers and scanners, translating, writing articles, can't even remember. Basic photo and video editing, writing content for social networks, helping with YouTube...

Well, during my travel I developed some new skills and gained a lot of experience in tourism working not only as a volunteer but as a paid staff in hostels, hotels and lodges, usually as a receptionist (but on different positions, too). I've also worked in tour agency for 6 months as a hunter & seller and turned out that I had incredible talent for catching people and selling tours. :)
I also started selling food (usually on the beach) when other options were not available, and it worked well, too.

In my working experiences I can count growing plants and mushrooms and planting trees, preparing and processing food (making beer, liquor, yogurt, kefir, kombucha, marmalade, juice, bread, drying herbs and fruits...).

I have worked with very different tools, from hammer and shovel to motor chainsaw and electrical grinder. One thing is sure, I’m not afraid of hard work.

I belong to type of people with a strong working ethic. I like job to be done as it should be. I work by the book, and I'm not big fan of improvisation (although it seems that in South America improvisation is the way to go :D). I’m a team player, but only if all team members are truly committed to the same goal. If that's not the case, I would rather do the job alone, just to be sure that it is done as it should be. I'm a fast-learner, and I’m not scared to ask if I'm not sure about something.

I like to learn new skills, so I will prefer hosts from whom I can learn.

I have A LOT of experience in hostelry and generally working in service industry and I could be very helpful not only working as a receptionist (for example) but also helping others with clear and useful tips and advice.

However, as my personal interests are related to plants and animals, keep in mind that if your project involves any of the following activities, please, feel free to contact me: making cheese, yogurt, kefir, kombucha, conservation of food, artesanal beer, honey production, mushroom cultivation, cacao production and making chocolate, medicinal plants, horses, bamboo construction, water management, composting, organic garden and permaculture... You've got the idea. :)

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Some of known skills and abilities that may be useful are: computer work (MS Office, Internet, booking platforms), international driving license (regular cars and motorcycles), POS terminals, cash registers, climbing equipment, active use of English and Spanish language, data entry, experience with different kinds of mechanical and electrical tools, working with people (bars, hostels, shops)…
But my greatest skill is good organization and planning ability. This highly effective skill has permitted me to travel for more than five years with a very limited budget.
I am also very experienced volunteer (more than 50 projects so far), so if you need help in organizing your group of volunteers and in planning the activities - I might be very helpful.

  • Autres infos...

As a long term, low budget backpacker, I am always looking for opportunities to earn some money to sustain our travel. If you know where or how I could make some extra cash in my free time, I would be very grateful to hear that.
Usually, I sell food or work in restaurants, hostels or in tour agencies, but I'm open to any suggestion.
    Thanks in advance!
