Description
Hello and thank you for taking a look at my profile! I am Marcus, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I have spent the past 12 years working to travel and have found that work exchange gives my adventures purpose and allows me to dig deeper into my surroundings. My hope is to familiarize myself with a new part of the world while living with locals and helping them reach their goals.
I like to spend most of my free time outdoors enjoying water sports such as swimming, diving and fishing, as well as hiking as often as possible. Indulging in new cuisines is also exciting for me and I have fun searching for local eateries, browsing markets and cooking at home.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I currently work as the lead dockhand at a marina on Lake Michigan, where I am responsible for servicing up to 50 boats per day on a fuel dock. Previously I was the plant manager of a plastic recycling center where I worked for 5 years. Some of my responsibilities included sorting material, running heavy machinery and keeping the shop clean and organized. I am capable of operating a forklift. I have also had experience working as a landscaper, in a greenhouse, a fruit packhouse and in restaurants/stores. I enjoy physical labor and take pride in completing my work in the most efficient way possible. I am always open to learning new trades.
I appreciate a more structured work environment where we begin each day with expectations. I am confident in my ability to complete tasks independently and efficiently with a bit of initial instruction from my host.
I love to work outside and have taken part in many harvest seasons, gardening duties and general maintenance projects throughout my travels. I am happy to help in the kitchen with cooking and cleaning, and would relish the opportunity to learn local recipes from my host. I am a big animal lover and have plenty of experience pet/house sitting.

Marcus stayed with us for one week. He helped with firewood, stable work and and organized our kitchen! He also participated some ice fishing trips with Fredrik. Marcus is easy going and interested of life and learning new skills. It felt like he was already part of the family. We have no bad to say about him, and he is always welcome back.
