Description

Hey, my name is Lior Silver, 27 years old from a small kibbutz in northern Israel. As one who grew up on a top of a mountain in the Galilee and had the fortune to live in a warm community, I learnt the values of shared and personal responsibilities, interdependence , trust, simplicity, peace and a firm connection with nature. I learned to live in harmony with my environment and for that I am forever grateful. We have a cow farm, chicken farm and a large kiwi fields in my kibbutz and I’ve been working there with my friends there from a very young age. Jumping forward, a string Earle of exploration grew in me and when I finished school I discovered the love for solo traveling and thought there was nothing better than the freedom and growth a traveler experiences. So I haven't really looked back and since I got a one-way ticket to Amsterdam and traveled in Europe, a new chapter has began. I lived and worked in Berlin backpacked in Eastern Europe, the UK and ultimately I decided to study International Relations in Czech Republic.
So three years of studying in Czech Republic opened so many new doors of perception and knowledge and although I learnt so much and experience a fast pace life, the lack of depth and meaning have pushed me to follow the footsteps of my roots and look for nature, community and meaning. Hence, naturally, discovering Workaway through a friend was an awesome revelation.
I love learning about different cultures, traveling, working with my hands, meeting people in the outdoors and reconnecting to mother nature.

This community is truly amazing, and I would love to explore more. As of now, December 2025, I'm traveling with my beautiful girlfriend Mariette in India and we're looking to see new places and meet to volunteer.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

My skills include various handy-man skills. I am a hard-worker and enjoy working with my hands and discovering new skills!
I have been working in agriculture and farms since the age of 14 during the summers, went to the military (tank brigade), later worked in an organic cafe, in a moving company in Berlin, a carpentry in Brno and nowadays as a bartender and a security guard. I also play football in a semi-pro team. In general I feel fortunate to gain these working skills but I am eager to learn more so I can be more self reliant and maybe even teach others.

I like to hike and to chill in the nature, read, I love art and tattoos, music, sports, to play a lot of football (soccer for the Americans), I love food and I like talking with people about everything and to socialize. I also like to take some time for myself to reflect and create. Overall, I am an open minded person who believes in equality and appreciates the opportunity to be able to meet people from different cultures and backgrounds.
