Description

Hi, I'm Kyle, a 24 year old from England. My main values are knowledge, achievement and joy. This means I'm most content when learning new things, working towards a goal and spending time with good people.

In 2024 I finished a Masters Degree in Biology. My studies covered Biodiversity, Ecology, Immunology and Parasitology and my final project focused on pesticides and Bumblebees. I have also worked in many customer sevice jobs from a young age, because I always knew I wanted to travel. Currently, I'm volunteering for 6 months at a nature reserve in Brazil's Atlantic Rainforest, researching bioluminescent mushrooms! It's a perfect blend of science and outdoor activity. Since being here I've had the opportunity to visit many caves, beaches and waterfalls across Southern Brazil and meet volunteers from all over the world.

After I return to the UK in March, I want to start doing Workaways in France to immerse myself in the language and culture. I hope one day to live there and be a fluent speaker (my current level is beginner, or intermediate on a good day).

I tend to go on daily walks in nature and some of my favourite hobbies are reading, learning about new areas of Biology and listening to music (mainly alternative R&B). I'm also very into fitness and enjoy weightlifting, hiking, swimming and tennis. I haven't done any Workaways yet, but I always persevere to complete a task, even if its challenging.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

- I have an academic background and am fluent in English, whilst knowing some French.
- Whilst I'm no builder, my parents love DIY and renovation. So I have experience with painting, stripping wallpaper, clearing rubble etc.
- Likewise, I'm not a gardener but at the Nature Reserve in Brazil, we have done some gardening, focusing on reforestation by planting native species and removing invasive species.
-I have worked in many customer service roles including retail, a waiter in a restaurant and pubs, and a shelf-filler and cashier in a supermarket. As a result I have skills in cleaning, food handling, customer service, communication and multi-tasking.
