Currently travelling through Central America with Guatemala & Nicaragua coming up next, looking for volunteer opportunities teaching (English, Computer, etc) or assisting with project management.

Description

My name is Kristina, 45 years old and from Berlin, Germany.
I am currently taking a sabbatical and travelling the world alternating volunteer work with sight seeing. I started my journey in Central Asia (Aug/Sept 24), continued in Africa (Oct 24 - Jan 25), and afterwards travelled almost 4 months through Central America (Feb - May 25). I am now heading to South East Asia and looking for workaway projects near Chiang Mai, Thailand, and Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Professionally I have been working as a Senior Project Manager/ Account Manager in the eCommerce and BPO industry, setting up and managing projects in many different countries (Europe, Africa, South America & Asia).

During previous travels in 2018 I discovered volunteer work via workaway as an amazing opportunity to really get to know other countries and cultures while helping local communities.

Previously I have done volunteer projects in Nepal (dog shelter & orphanage), and taught English to children in Cambodia and Kenya and to young adults in Vietnam. In the last 6 months I have been a return visitor and teacher at the primary school in rural Kenya, have volunteered at a school and a nature camp on Zanzibar and spent 2 weeks at an organic farm/ anti-deforestation project in Zambia assisting with social media and document writing. In Central America I spent one month at the Ix-canaan cildren center in Guatemala teaching English and computer classes to local kids (5-12 years old) and working on my Spanish.

I‘d love to work with children or young adults (e.g.teaching languages or PC skills) but can also help out in any environment that requires project management, business development or project & organizational skills. I hold a TEFL (Teaching English as a foreign language) certification and have just completed my Spanish B1 exam.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I‘d love to work with children or adults (e.g.teaching languages, PC skills or any other primary school subject with a predefined curriculuom) but can add value in any environment that requires project mgmt, business development or organizational skills.

Since 2018 I am a certified TEFL teacher (teaching English as a foreign language) and have experience setting up my own lesson plans for pre-primary, primary students as well as young adults. Have taught in volunteer projects in Nepal, Cambodia, Vietnam and Kenya.
