  Description

  We are a family of five (three children aged 11, 13 and 17) living on ten acres in the sought-after holiday destination of Metung, a little village set on a narrow, sandy peninsula in the heart of the Gippsland Lakes. Its history is steeped in boats, fishing and gentle lifestyles.
  
  We there are always jobs to be done. Nothing is too onerous, just ongoing. We have also recently purchased a chalet at Dinner Plain in the high country, so there are more jobs to be done there, too.
  
  We are happy to negotiate T&C, but generally, in exchange for full board, we ask for about 20hrs/week contribution from you. There's flexibility about how that is delivered by you, but generally speaking we like 4hrs in the morning x 5 days/week.
  
  We've hosted lots of helpers through a different platform, but yet to host through Workaway.

  Hébergement

  Accommodation is in a self-contained two bedroom holiday flat that is a five minute walk from our home. If the flats are fully booked we can accommodate you at our home however our preference is to house you at the flats where you are fully self-contained and can maintain greater privacy.
  
  We provide all food - help yourself to breakfast and lunch, we cook dinner for you; some flexibility e.g. if you're a good cook you're welcome to cook. We don't accommodate special dietary requests like chocolate. we are not vegan.

  This is a beautiful part of Victoria, Metung is hidden within a coastal forest and rolling hills, surrounded by the pristine water of the magnificent Gippsland Lakes. From Metung you can travel from sand to snow in a relatively unbroken chain of ecosystems. from coastal heathlands and forests, into the wildflower-rich eucalypt forests of the foothills, warm temperate rainforests of streams and shady gullies, then up to the higher rainfall tall, wet mountain forests thick with tree ferns and towering giants. These natural wonders eventually join up with the alpine environments and snow adapted forests and herb fields of the high country. There's a lot of wildlife in its natural habitat such as koalas, kangaroos, echidnas, kookaburras, dolphins and more. But public transport in the area is limited so your own car is desirable.
