I have just finished a Computing Science degree and want to get back out into the world!

In 2022-23 I worked for 5 months at possibly the most unique hostel in Panama (Lost and Found Hostel). Working behind the reception, organising other volunteers and generally helping run the hostel. This has taught me so much about how to be in a social hostel environment, making people feel welcome and how to create fun social interaction between people. I also volunteered for 1 month in a brilliant hostel in Granada, Nicaragua, mostly helping run events in and around the hostel for guests. This experience was much more chill than the work in Panama, and was so much fun.

I am a very social and adventurous person, so having the opportunity to travel and help out with cool projects in other parts of the world are perfect for me. I'm purely motivated by new experiences, trying to get the most out of life. Volunteering while traveling is a brilliant way to see other cultures and environments and meet loads of cool new people.

I am also no stranger to hard work and bring a wide range of useful skills because I've worked in engineering/construction and animal care.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Hostel Skills:
- I know how hostel booking systems such as sirvoy work, as I’ve used that for checking people in, managing bookings etc.
- I know how to use business register systems such as Loyverse for keeping track of peoples tabs.
- I have experience with the general tasks that go into maintaining a hostel, changing beds, laundry, cooking and creating a fun atmosphere.

Computer Skills:
- I am proficient with computers, in that I can help fix, update and set them up.
- I can also help with building and maintaining websites, databases and internet.

Physical Skills:
- I am fit and healthy and enjoy working outside, building and tending to gardens.
- I enjoy cooking and I am excited to travel to new parts of the world to try new dishes.
- I love hiking, especially in warm climates, any sort of adventure is exciting.

Animal Skills:
- I love all animals and have two cats myself!
- I have cared for horses, mucking out stables, feeding, brushing and washing them.
- I have also cared for sheep, herding and feeding them.

Autres infos...

My biggest hobby is D&D, this game is perfect as it feeds into my creativity and love for collaborative gameplay. It has taught me leadership skills and how to resolve conflict in a group. I love introducing new people to this game and am always happy to.

I am a big bookworm as well, I can't think of anything more peaceful than sitting in the warm shade, in nature, with a book. Currently, I am reading the book thief, although a few of my favourite books are the Fablehaven series and Philp Pulman's Dark Materials.
