  • Description

Hey there, I’m just starting my journey around the world and I’m looking forward to meeting a lot of great people on the way.:)
About me: I am a very open-minded person who loves nothing more than getting to see or learn about new things; no matter the area and whether or not I’m already familiar with it, I will most likely want to know more.
I’m also rather joyful and humorous. I like making people feel light-hearted.:)

I’ve always been a person who loves to go out and discover new places and people so traveling in general feels like the right thing for me to do before settling down and studying. I want to get to know cultures different from my own and gain as much experience as possible, whether that be general, social or work experience. The independence I will hopefully gain is, of course, a great addition, too.

There are many different hobbies I’ve acquired in the past few years. I enjoy all forms of art, which includes drawing, crafting all sorts of things (such as jewellery, costumes or decorations), writing poetry and stories but also playing the drums and guitar. I also like trying out different kinds of sports, such as dancing or boxing.

While this is my first time going on such a huge and long journey, I do already have some travel experience. My most memorable one is probably the exchange program my school offered, where I had the opportunity to visit Prague and live with my exchange student for a week.
So, traveling itself isn’t a new experience but the dimensions now are entirely different ones, of course.
Hopefully I’ll be able to learn a lot and later come home with at least double the experience I’m starting with.:)

Plus de détails sur les langues qui m'intéressent
Being a reader and writer, I really enjoy languages in general. I read mostly in English and German and try to expand my vocabulary as much as I can. French, I’ve mostly learned at school, so my skills are accordingly high. I would also love to learn Romanian as it’s my mother’s native language and she unfortunately never taught me. If there’s enough time and capacity, I’d also like to be able to speak or at least understand Korean or Japanese, Italian or Spanish and Czech at some point. As for teaching others, I could always give it a try!

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I just finished my A-levels here in Germany. I put a lot of effort into my studies and found myself to be the most fond of languages and social fields. As a sort of bridge, I currently work a full-time job at a production company.

I speak German and English fluently. German is my mother tongue and I scored C2 on my Cambridge certificate. My French isn’t nearly as good but it suffices to read and understand simple conversations…Mostly.
I could probably teach others both German and English.

At school we had the opportunity to volunteer as contact people for 5th graders that don’t know their way around yet, which I did. We were a sort of link between the children and our teachers, as we were young enough for them to feel safe with us and old enough to properly communicate any issues we might have noticed to the teachers.
Furthermore, I participated in a work group against discrimination at our school, where we discussed ways to go on about existing issues as well as methods to prevent further issues from arising. This included designing posters and putting them up at school, brainstorming about other, perhaps more effective ways to teach kids and teachers tolerance etc.
In my last year, besides the theatre club, I also decided to join a liturgy club, where we organised fairs and devotions for our school.
In 10th grade, I did an internship at a law firm.

As for more physical or social work, I have volunteered any time we had to sell anything at school, such as crafted goods or food and drinks. This included putting up booths, decorating them, keeping them hygienic and doing the dishes as well as taking all of it down again, of course.
Outside of school, I have some experience as a waitress and a salesperson as well as I’ve signed up for events that needed help a few times and sold items at flea markets or online.

In my free time, I work on my artsy and crafty skills, for example by renovating my room, painting my walls, arranging furniture and decorations but also practicing the drums, writing poetry or really just learning any skill I find to be useful. I try to put as much passion and precision as I can into my art, especially when I’m making it as a gift for others. I’m currently teaching myself to be a better cook (you can actually eat what I cook now!!) and trying to improve my stamina as well as physical strength again.

I would say I’m a quick learner and good at improvising. I once set my mind to making an entire costume myself. I neither knew how to properly sew, nor how to paint clothes, nor did I have a high budget, but I somehow managed to craft a costume good enough to win the competition. Honestly, I still don’t know how I even did that, but apparently I have a knack for this sort of thing.:D

  • Autres infos...

I enjoy reading, mostly classic literature like Kafka or Jane Austen but also fantasy, fiction and most other genres. Whenever I pass by a bookstore, I either go inside or really have to fight with myself not to.
My favorite music genres are rock, indie and pop and concerts and festivals are probably where I feel the happiest.
I love photography, which is why I’ll always try to find a sort of aesthetic and look for pretty details, wherever I go. I especially like taking pictures when I’m outside in nature or out somewhere exploring new places.
I’m also a fan of museums, I’m interested in all sorts of exhibitions.
Lastly, I’m a film- and theatre enthusiast. Whenever there’s a new movie I want to watch, I’ll be at the cinema before it’s even out!!
