Hi! We are Maria & Javier, friendly Costa Rican & Honduran couple who are passionate and enthusiastic about traveling, learning and getting to meet new people and cultures.
We consider ourselves adaptable, easy-going, organized, detail-oriented, driven, proactive and courteous with great written and verbal communication skills. We are tidy because we enjoy having a clean working & living area.
We feel at our best when surrounded by nature and when accomplishing meaningful tasks that we know will bring happiness to others.
We enjoy cooking together, outdoor activities and playing with and/or taking care of animals. We have experience living in farms and we are used to work with little supervision as we know how to prioritize our tasks and deliver as agreed.

Hola! Somos Maria y Javier, una amigable pareja de Costa Rica y Honduras que disfruta enormemente viajar, conocer personas nuevas y aprender de diferentes culturas.
Nos adaptamos con facilidad, somos muy faciles de llevar, bastante organizados y ordenados hasta en los pequeños detalles, proactivos y disfrutamos relacionarnos de manera cortés, por medio de una comunicacion abierta y respetuosa. Somos bastante ordenados ya que disfrutamos vivir y trabajar en un ambiente limpio.
Cuando nos sentimos mejor es cuando estamos rodeados de naturaleza, al igual que cuando realizamos tareas significativas que sabemos van a brindar felicidad a otros. Nos encanta cocinar juntos, realizar actividades en exterior, y jugar/cuidar todo tipo de animales.
Tenemos experiencia viviendo en granjas, y estamos acostmbrados a trabajar con poca supervisión ya que sabemos priorizar nuestras tareas de manera que cumplimos con el tiempo y forma que acordamos entregarlas.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We both are very enthusiastic about nature, and we are fast learners with great willingness to help. We like team working and we believe in giving our 100% to whatever we commit to do because we like smiling and making smile.

During previous voluntary gigs we have acquired some experience doing masonry & construction work, bending rebar, laying down foundation for buildings, plastering and applying primer and paint to walls and various different surfaces. (We are stronger than we look! :p)
We have also worked at holistic centers, practicing in treatments and medicine that treats all of the person... not just the sickness but as a whole being.
We have vast experience working sweat lodges (temazcal).

Maria is an experienced English teacher, with the patience and charisma to engage with students of all ages. She's a native Spanish speaker, with a C2 English Level and a B2 French Level.
She's also a creative vegetarian cook (specially focused on an Alkaline Lifestyle) who enjoys learning and trying new dishes all the time.

Javier loves connecting with people and has experience working as an English/Spanish interpreter, knows his way around hands-on chores, gardening and farming.
He can give some holistic therapies for the physical and spiritual well-being. He also takes beautiful pictures of nature!
He has more volunteering experience and has spent weeks living with indigenous groups in Honduras, Mexico and Costa Rica.

Besides what's mentioned above, we can help with tasks around the house, giving general property maintenance, supporting reception at hotels and even waitressing at bars/restaurants. We believe in building caring, honest, respectful and communicative friendships with the people around us.

Ambos somos amantes de la naturaleza, aprendemos rapido y siempre tenemos la disponibilidad de ayudar. Nos gusta trabajar en equipo y nos entregamos un 100% a lo que nos comprometemos en hacer ya que nos gusta sonreir y hacer sonreir a otros.

En voluntariados anteriores hemos adquirido algo de experiencia en albañilería y trabajos de construcción, doblando varillas, poniendo cimientos, repellando y pintando paredes y diferentes superficies. (Somos mas fuertes de lo que parece! :P)
También hemos trabajado en centros holísticos, brindando tratamientos y medicina que trata a toda la persona... no solo a la enfermedad sino a todo el ser.
Tenemos vasta experiencia asistiendo a correr temazcales.

María posee gran experiencia como profesora de inglés, y tiene la paciencia y el carisma para interactuar con estudiantes de todas las edades. Es hablante nativa de español, con un nivel de inglés C2 y un nivel de francés B2.
También es bastante creativa en la cocina vegetariana (especialmente enfocada en un estilo de vida alcalino) disfruta aprender y probar nuevos platos.

A Javier le encanta conectarse con la gente y tiene experiencia trabajando como intérprete de inglés / español, sabe como lidiar con varias tareas de mantenimiento de la casa, de la granja y jardinería.
Puede dar algunas terapias holísticas para el bienestar físico y espiritual. También toma hermosas fotografías de la naturaleza!
El tiene más experiencia en voluntariado y ha pasado semanas viviendo con grupos indígenas en Honduras, México y Costa Rica.

Además de lo mencionado anteriormente, podemos ayudar con las tareas de la casa, dando mantenimiento general a la propiedad, apoyando en recepción en hoteles e incluso sirviendo como camareros en bares / restaurantes. Ambos creemos en la construcción de amistades afectivas, honestas, respetuosas y comunicativas con las personas que nos rodean.

We are huge board games fans, being Domino and UNO our favorite!
We enjoy hiking, swimming, biking and going on adventures. We usually stretch and meditate once a day.
We are very easy-going.
We both love world music but many times we also like to simply lie down and enjoy the sounds of nature.

Somos fanáticos de los juegos de mesa, Domino y UNO son nuestros favoritos!
Disfrutamos el senderismo, la natación, el ciclismo y la aventura. Usualmente estiramos y meditamos una vez al día.
Somos muy tranquilos y fáciles de llevar.
A los dos nos encanta la música del mundo, pero muchas veces también nos gusta simplemente tumbarnos a disfrutar los sonidos de la naturaleza.
