I'm interested in nature, science, gardening, hiking, social issues, culture and design/architecture, amongst other things. I have been to a few countries, including France, Portugal, Iceland, Greece, Albania, Tunisia and Austria. As these are my first times travelling alone I'd like to start out in Europe. Eventually I'd like to visit as many different places as possible.
I have helped on our a smallholding in West Wales since I was little, as well as in nature conservation, being a member of several nature conservation charities and the Centre for Alternative Technology (Wales).
I play football with the village club and enjoy running and agility with my border collie, Meg. I also like to have a go at new things when I can, and have tried skiing, flying light aircraft, SCUBA diving, snorkelling, boating and camel riding.Centres d’intérêt

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I have helped on our smallholding in West Wales since I was little, in our large garden and polytunnels growing many different fruits, vegetables, flowers and herbs, looking after animals, including chickens, ducks, quail, and honey-bees, maintaining fields (for sheep) and waterways, digging ponds, and planting trees and hedges.
I made a small hydroponics system for one of my Design and Technology projects.
I have kept small livestock (birds for eggs which I deliver locally, and bees).
I made a solar powered wax-melter for my other Design and Technology project, with a thermostat and solar powered heater (it's often cloudy here in summer!).
I volunteered for two weeks at the Centre for Alternative Technology in West Wales (August 2022 and November 2023), where I have also been on a short course about community action for the climate and environmental emergency (March 2024), and their annual conference (October 2023).
I volunteered on 7 reserves for my local wildlife trust in October 2023, and have done further conservation management volunteering for many years before and since (e.g. clearing invasive species and scrub, beach cleans, putting up dormouse boxes). I have also attended guided wildlife walks and loved going to nature reserves since I was little, as well as talks on wildlife.
I did a placement for Waltham Forest (outer London) council's Sustainable Transport teams (infrastructure design and behavioural change) in early 2024. Since then I have had shorter placements in and surrounding the development planning profession with 3 different councils and 2 consultancy firms.
I have played music in my family's folk music band, including for a local old people's home, at an event in aid of Syrian refugees, and other local venues. I'm learning playing the mandolin and melodeon. I also played the melodeon solo (that was scary) at the school Eisteddfod (annual local traditional Welsh cultural event), along with doing a few other performances and activities for it (also scary), and helping to organise the event in 2022 and 2023.
I stood unsuccessfully for the Welsh Youth Parliament, having my manifesto published in the school's annual magazine.
I have raised money for several charities, most notably the local Foodbank.
I learnt some basic construction, woodwork, electrical and light engineering skills (BTEC Level 2 engineering) at school, and from family members who have businesses in that area. I would love the chance to learn some more. During my A level Design and Technology course I helped run a club for younger the students.Âge
