Description

I am an artist from Los Angeles who has been lucky enough to have lived in a few cities so far, including New York, Boston, Denver, Ketchikan (Alaska) and Florence Italy, as well as having travelled to countless others. I am easy to get along with and live in communal environments, I enjoy making new connections.
I have art, food-service, barista, hospitality, animal and child-care experience, and I'm always looking to learn more about things I'm unfamiliar with!

What makes me a good volunteer:

- My passion, dedication, and work ethic! Being welcomed into your home or business is an honor and a privilege and I treat the experience as such.
- I love to cook and learn new techniques and recipes. I would be happy to cook a few or many meals depending on the situation, or just help out around the kitchen and cook together.
- Low alcohol use (I don't drink often except socially, and I don't smoke or do drugs)
- I have spent many summers working and living away from home for months at a time and I'm comfortable and adjust quickly to 'unusual' and communal living spaces.
- Experience in childcare, elder care, and pet/animal care.
- Communication is crucial for safety, relationship-building, and trust, and so I prioritize healthy, honest, and open communication
- I'm a quick and enthusiastic learner, even if I don't know how to do something, just show me and I'll get it.

Looking for community, exploration, getting close to nature, learning new skills, lifestyles and cultures, and meeting new people. I only speak English fluently, but know tidbits of many various languages and am always looking for opportunities to practice and learn. (Particularly curious about herbalism holistic, natural medicinal knowledge, and building eco Cobb homes, off-grid, homesteading, developing skills to be self sufficient)

Volunteer sites that I feel will be the best match for me might included some or all of these features:

- Reliable and open communication about details, hopes, and expectations
- Opportunities for adventuring and cultural exchange!
- LGBTQ acceptance and friendliness! I feel safest around folks who are comfortable with different identities.
- Some down time occasionally to unwind and read a book or draw.
- Yummy food/Sharing recipes and/or cooking together.
- Humor, good conversation, and opportunities to have fun!
