Description
Our house is a kite center that has its own surf spirit hotel, restaurant, bar and kite school. The center is located on the Gulbahce kite beach in Urla / Izmir – Turkey which is on the west coast of Turkey. It is approximately 14 km from Urla and 50 km from Izmir. Public transportation is available.
Turkish - French couple owns the center. It has 14 rooms and roof area, garden, a pool and a skate park. It has a warm and sociable atmosphere. You can meet foreigners and local people.
The center is pet friendly.
as for our staff: we are separated in to three part: the hotel, the kite school, and the restaurant.
The hotel: one manager, one receptionist, one cleaning lady, and one night guy. That is where most of the help of the workaway is needed: DIY projects, decoration, gardening, keeping the place tidy, and helping the cleaning lady on week ends when it is crowded and during events.
the school: we have a manager, two office person, four assistants, and 11 instructors. the only help from workaways we ask here is DIY project for the center, and decoration/painting.
The restaurant: a manager, a cook, a cook helper, a cleaning guy, a barista, two people taking orders, one delivery guy, and one "jocker". We don't ask for help there.
We offer our volunteer team food and accommodation for their help, and we do discount on the bar and kite lessons. Contact us for details :)

Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn about running a small hotel. Cultural exchange is guaranteed as we have foreigner guests. In your free times you can visit many places around Urla; local markets in different villages, wine, olive oil, hiking, cycling and historical route (Ephesus, Pamukkale, etc.), beaches to swim, surf and dive (Alacati, Cesme, Karaburun etc.)
Aide
We need teammates with good spirit, cheerful, friendly, complies with hours and tasks. We need help in;
- General Maintenance: first to creacte DIY projects to enhance our place, and than to help us keeping the place tidy. we as well ask help for the cleaning on week ends and during events when it is crowded (not room cleaning, but the reception, common area, hanging the closes, and things like that)
- Gardening
- Baby sitting :)
We do not ask all workawayers to do everything, we try to devide the tasks according to everyone's best traits.
We are looking for long term volunteers; minimum 1 month up to 7 months.

we do have a small comon area for home office, and our internet is decent, but we do have some cuts sometimes (we are in a small village on the coast), so if you are really dependent on 24/7 internet, the best is to get a card for your phone, it's quite easy and cheap in the airport :)

we have a parking in front of the house, with easely reachable water. For waist water, we do not have in the parking though...

I was supposed to stay a few weeks, ultimately I stayed several months. These several months at the hotel were magical. This place is magical. Pinpin and Nico have made this hotel a real family, where you immediately feel integrated and loved. This experience taught me a lot personally and professionally. Carolina and Juliana stayed with us for 3 months, during our high season.
