Description

We are Faheem and Anne-Marie (Annie) a married Scottish couple looking to see more of the world and gain new skills in the hope of fulfilling our long term goal of escaping the rat race of the UK and finding a simpler more wholesome way of life for ourselves.

After both working for many years in professional and highly demanding office environments, (Faheem - Finance Analyst, Annie - Legal Secretary) we are ready for a change, so we decided to leave our jobs, pack up and head out on our greatest adventure yet! From previous travels, we have both experienced simpler, natural and more holistic ways of living that we feel we cannot replicate in the UK. We are looking to start achieving goals and experiencing different forms of success that will contribute to our personal growth and happiness. We both have dreams of doing something different, something that will help ourselves and others grow and that is not office based.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Faheem - I have a wide range of eclectic skills - Relationship building, coaching and mentoring, strong communication both writting and oral, punctuality, ability to prioritise heavy workloads, risk awareness, front facing customer roles, child and social care skills, basic gardening and growing vegtable skills, animal wellfare and caring skills from multiple pets throughout my life, musician and arty.
Annie - Years of front facing customer roles, excellent admin skills, basic gardening skills and growing vegetables, animal care from relatives being farmers and growing up with multiple different pets, personal care for elderly (respite care for mum who looks after 105 year old grandmother), musician and Qualified clinical reflexologist.

Fun fact - Faheem and Annie were born on the same day, month, year, the same city, in the same hospital in, 6hrs 9 mins apart. According to a mathematician this is a 1 in 7million chance of us finding each other and getting married.
Bonus Fact: We got married on our birthdays!!

Likes: Cats, travelling, meeting new people, experiencing new cultures, listen to music, Playing music, drawing, painting, generally being creative, recently pottery and ceramics, playing football, skateboarding, cycling, reading, dancing, singing, hiking, music festivals, Qi Gong, coffee, Tetley Tea(Faheem), Green Tea(Annie), camping, mostly all chocolates (especially dark), cosy nights round a fire.

Annie - travelled extensively, particularly in Asia and then lived in China and Philippines for nearly 5 years. Taught English to both adults and children in China and volunteered at a school in the Philippines for children who lived on the streets and children who lived and worked alongside their parents on a landfill site. For the last few years Annie has been settled back in the UK working as a legal secretary. She had felt for some time that law and a desk job were not for her.

For the last 10 years or more, Faheem has actively been supporting his parents who became foster carers in the UK. Around 8 years ago Faheem’s sisters’ kids were also put into kinship care with his parents which became stressful as went from a family of 3 in one house to a family of 8 practically overnight. During this time, he also balanced and built up a career in Lloyds Bank as a Finance Analyst as at that time he was also looking for a new challenge to develop himself. He thoroughly enjoyed his time at the bank, learning Pensions, Mortgages , and the Investment Loans Market, however 10 years on he felt like he was working towards someone else’s dream.

Annie and I fell in love and in the early stages of this realised that we both were not happy in our day-to-day jobs and at times would carry this feeling home with us. This is not something we wish to foster in our daily life, now that we are married, and hope to start our next adventure and have decided to take a risk with each other’s support. We have no set plans for the length of our travels and hope to eventually finish in Pakistan where i have some family.
