Description

Hii! My name is Esther and I recently graduated from art school in The Netherlands. Right now I am living in Rotterdam and trying to discover the green communities and areas in the city. My focus is working with a lot of different materials and using them as a way to make technology more physical.

Volunteering gives me satisfaction and new life experiences. For me personally it is way more fulfilling than traveling with a tight schedule. Besides that it challenges me to get a little more out of my comfort zone.

As a person I would describe myself as calm, curious and pro- active. In my free time I really like to cook for friends and neighbours, hang out in the park and I am always down for playing boardgames. Sometimes I can lose myself in a way to ambitious knitting/ sewing project.

I would love to get more experience in woodworking traditional crafts.

I consider myself as a pretty easy going person. I can be a bit introvert at the start, but after feeling comfortable I am very willing to have deep conversations and talk about anything. ;)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Growing up surrounded by dogs, cats, chickens and horses, I learned early on what it means to live alongside other creatures and care for them.
Now in the city I find this connection in the community garden, where I work together with neighbours and learn about gardening and collaboration.
I did some volunteering at festivals where I gained experience building with wood and other large materials. Helping a kinetic artist in his workshop introduced me to a variety of tools and helped me develop my manual dexterity.
In my free time I also really enjoy working with textiles like sewing, knitting and crocheting.

Besides my job in a small theater, I also help people in their garden and with their home maintenance.

In general I like to try out a lot of things and I am very open to learn any new skills! :)
