  Description

  I am Bwambale, third born among six children born and brought up in Christian family . I hold a Bachelors degree of Adult and Community Education from Makerere University and experience of over 10 years working with and among rural and urban communities. I am married and a Father of 5 children (4 boys and 1 girl).
  
  I am passionate about promoting the education of children and improving their household livelihood irrespective of their status.
  
  I am a Mukonzo by tribe born from Karambi Sub County, Kasese District in the Rwenzori region bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Kasese District is located approximately 450 Kms from the capital city-Kampala and is blessed with a lot of natural futures including Mt. Rwenzori "Mountain of the Moon" with sparkling snows and glaciers, Queen Elizabeth National park, Rwenzori National park, lakes and rivers such as Lake Katwe Known for salt, lake Albert and George good for fishing, with industries ranging from Copper, cobalt, salt mining. Kasese is has two seasons in a year, rainy seasons and sunny season with green vegetation all-over, the district does not segregate its people, all are welcome. Kasese has one of the highest growth rates of 3.7% compared to the national rate of 3.4%. The main economic activity is subsistence agriculture but with booming trade at the cross-country border points. All its rivers are glaciers from the snow mountain; and has plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits produced from the hills.
  
  In 2020, i I am Technical advisor for a Community Based Organization currently registered in Kasese but with activities in neighboring communities, our strategic focus is on Education promotion and support, Livihoods and innovations, construction for the needy households. The main goal is improving livelihoods for vulnerable societies through promoting equity and equality in education by nurturing positive practices and attitudes towards education across ages. Since then, some work has been done on voluntary basis as we continue to strategize opportunities to enable us achieve our goal.
  
  Some of the main challenges faced by Kasese district which is our main area of focus as revealed by the district development plan indicate High levels of poverty with over 60% of the population said to be living below the poverty line(earns < 1 US dollar per day); low literacy levels(50%) and high level of food insecurity( 60% of families eat one meal a day). Thus an acute lack of basic needs of an ordinary person, Low awareness on how to harness the available resources so to improve on the quality of life, High HIV prevalence rates and high levels of teenage pregnancies characterize this population

  They will be able to appreciate the way of life for Bakonzo people especially the way how we prepare our traditional meals such as vegetable prepared from cassava leaves, how we locally utilize cassava to make flour.
  More so, the traveler will be able to witness the accommodation settings and how our people utilize hotsprings for healing complex illnesses.
  The traveler will also be able to learn how we carry our different items using our back as a carrier, its such an interesting process on how back do this yet on long distances and mountainous areas.
  Kasese is a place of exciting cultural learning that one would not afford missing.

  Hébergement

  The traveler will be hosted in a reserved single room, roofed with iron sheets, the toilet and bathrooms are located outside the room, tapped water is always available, electricity is well supplied and solar for lighting is installed in case power goes off, where as the house is well plastered but is not yet painted.
  I have a kitchen with water and electricity installed
  The traveler should expect to stay with me and i have a family of 7 people including 2adults and 5 children, much of our food is got from the market which is at affordable prices and market is very close to my place, sometimes i do cultivate on a small plot for vegetables and spices.

  I live in Kasese Municipal Council with my family, its a hospitable area, people here are friendly and welcoming. While here, you will be able to view the entire town because its a little raised around 8 KMs from the town center. During free times, the traveler is free to pay visit to of the features mentioned above. available means of transport is by public including Taxis and boda-bodas at affordable and friendly price.
