Description

Hi! I’m Erdem — born and raised by the sea in Türkiye, with a very Mediterranean spirit: warm, social, curious, and easy to connect with people. I enjoy good company, meaningful conversations, shared meals, and contributing in practical ways wherever I stay.

I come from a solid professional background. For many years I worked as an engineer in construction, land surveying, drone mapping, and fiber-optic (ISP) infrastructure projects. Staying long-term in corporate environments taught me responsibility, reliability, teamwork, and safety awareness — values I still bring into every place I stay.

Alongside my professional life, I’ve always been very hands-on and active. I’m comfortable helping with farm and maintenance work, including:
• maintenance & repair
• outdoor tasks
• hand tools (drill, basic power tools)
• chainsaw (basic, safety-focused use)
• tractor operation (basic farm work)
— always following safety rules and host guidance.
I also enjoy learning new practical skills and improving step by step (e.g. circular saw, basic welding under supervision).

Recently, I’ve been volunteering on a farm in Swellendam, South Africa, helping with:
• grass cutting & land maintenance
• basic building and repair tasks
• daily farm routines
• occasional cooking and shared meals
This experience strengthened my physical endurance, adaptability, and comfort with rural life.

I’m also an experienced motorcycle rider and can handle basic maintenance tasks such as:
• oil change
• fuse replacement
• basic checks & adjustments
I’m very interested in learning more mechanical skills related to motorcycles, cars, and 4x4 vehicles, if a host is happy to teach.

I love cooking and sharing food, especially simple Turkish dishes like İmam Bayıldı and Menemen — people often really enjoy these meals, and I see cooking as a great way to build community and connection.

On the creative side, I create short promotional videos using drone and phone footage, edited in CapCut, which hosts can use for:
• social media
• websites
• promotion of their place or project

I also have a growing interest in DJing, music production, and sound design, and I’m motivated to keep learning and improving — especially in social, community, or event-based environments.

I have strong outdoor and stamina-based skills, including:
• rock climbing / rope skills
• hiking & mountain experience
• diving (CMAS 1★)
• paragliding (P2)
These experiences helped me build physical resilience, calmness under pressure, and comfort in nature — useful for long days, outdoor projects, or active environments.

I also have a strong background in martial arts and body awareness, including:
• Aikido – 3rd Dan (black belt)
• Kickboxing (1 year experience)
• Mindfulness & body awareness practices

If relevant, I can also organize basic mindfulness-based self-defence or awareness workshops, focused on calmness, posture, balance, and personal safety (non-aggressive, respectful approach).

What matters most to me is real human connection: being useful, sharing effort, bringing good energy, and leaving a place better than I found it. I’m calm, reliable, adaptable, and genuinely enjoy helping — whether it’s physical work, creative support, cooking, or simply being a positive presence.
