Description

Hi :) my name is Emilia, I am 19 years old, I’m from Germany and I’m currently doing a gap year before starting university.
I’m using my gap year to travel to new places and meet new people. I’m really interested in learning about different cultures and lifestyles and would love to become a part of those while sharing my own culture as well as my language and my experiences. I have already used my gap year to work and also for a 2 month interrail trip through the south of Europe which truly changed me as a person, as well as other short trips to Edinburgh , Dublin, Oslo and Copenhagen and I’m currently on my next adventure: working on a farm in Ireland! I hope to spend even more time abroad and make even more experiences. I hope to broaden my horizon and step out of my comfort zone.
I’m a really open minded, reliable and motivated person. I am open to all sorts of work that I can help with. I like to work hard and try new things as well.
In my free time I love to do gymnastics and dancing, as well as drawing, being outdoors and having good conversations. My friends are a big part of my life and I believe everyone should be treated with kindness and respect and should be offered help when needed.
A respectful and friendly atmosphere is important to me. I appreciate environments where people can learn from each other while having fun and working together, I hope to make those kind of connections via workaway :)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

For 2,5 years I have been working in a dripping stone cave, a popular tourist attraction in my hometown. I give tours through the cave, sharing historical and geological information to over 50 guests at once. I also help in the museum shop, selling products and tickets. Besides that I organize birthday parties for children in the cave. I can perform well under pressure and don't have problems talking in front of big groups of people and the job gave me lots of experience in the tourism sector.
I know how to communicate with customers and how to solve problems.
Besides, I have tutored primary school pupils in mathematics from which I gained patience and sensitivity.
I know how to do basic chores like cleaning, laundry, etc.
I have also spent over a month on a farm in Ireland so I know farm work and taking care of animals. I am reliable and know how to handle responsibilities.
Furthermore I completed a sports assistant training course, which enabled me to help plan and assist with sporting events at primary and secondary schools.
During a one-month holiday job, I gained experience in assembly and developed my manual skills, making me suitable for several sorts of work, whatever needed.
I’m fluent in German and English, having absolved the Cambridge certificate for English as well.
I like to cook with my grandma so I have basic cooking skills as well.

I love painting and calligraphy. I like board games in general and would like to get to know new ones as well :) As already mentioned I love all sorts of dancing and have done gymnastics for about 8 years. I love listening to music and hearing people play instruments. I enjoy good weather and like to use it for fun outside activities!
