Description

Hello, my name is Bas. I'm a relaxed, friendly guy that can work hard, especially when I'm excited about something. I'm from the Netherlands but I'm looking for a place/places to live in Spain / Latin America because that's where I feel the best and I speak basic Spanish.
In Holland I had my own recycle company with a workshop. I did beach-cleanups with groups and from the plastic litter we made products like lampshades, clocks, guitar-picks, bookmarks etc using a shredder that I build from 2nd hand materials and a sheet-press. With at the end a quiz about what they learned about the causes of the plastic pollution and the solutions. I also worked for a thrift store where I made and repaired furniture in a workshop.
It was a lot of fun and very educational but I was dealing with burn-out symptoms and a shoulder injury.
During the period in which I couldn't do physical work I started writing a book about how you can make money and lower your footprint - without hassle or losing comfort (and even gaining comfort) - with little adjustments around the house. This is what I'm still doing on my laptop and next to it I want to be around people again and do physical work in Spain.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a wide set of skills due to all the different jobs I had trough-out my life, art school education and the social enterprise that I had.
- I had my own workshop where I did built everything (including a shredder to shred litter plastic into flakes to make new things from) from 2nd hand materials and stuff that I found at the streets.
- I did furniture repairs
- I managed the social media account and contact with the clients (for the social enterprise).
- I did camerawork and video-editing for some companies and know my way around Photoshop
- I play guitar for 17 years now
- I was surf-instructor, outdoor-instructor and snowboard instructor
- I had a job as cleaner of elderly homes and hotel rooms when I was younger
- I speak fluently Dutch, English and German, basic Spanish (did language school in Granada for 3 months) and a little French.
