Description

Hi, we're Steve and Fiona.

We're a British couple travelling around the world in our self-contained motorhome. We're using Workaway because we'd like to occasionally slow down from travelling, get involved in something worthwhile, meet interesting people and become part of a community for a while.

We're completely self-sufficient in our motorhome and have our own motorbike & escooter and income stream so we're very independent and won't need to rely on hosts for accommodation, food or transport. Often we find it better to park locally and not with hosts as many hosts have their own animals. There is always somewhere to park nearby (park4night) and with our motorbike, escooter and van we can always come just for a few hours each day to help out. Having said that, our animals are well trained, used to farm life and friendly so if you'd like us to park on site and be fully immersed in your project/community we are more than happy with that too.

We're open-minded about the type of Workaway we'd do. We're particularly interested in animal projects, hostels and social/community-based projects, but we're happy to consider all sorts of opportunities where we can be useful.

What can we offer?

We're both experienced, CELTA-qualified English teachers and are happy to help with English lessons, conversation practice or informal teaching.

We love animals and currently travel with three dogs and a cat, including two dogs we rescued during our travels in Turkey. We'd be particularly happy to help with animal rescue, care, training and socialisation.

We're comfortable around people and enjoy social environments, making us particularly suited to hostels and projects where meeting people and creating a good atmosphere is important.

Steve is happy doing practical, physical work and getting stuck into whatever needs doing. He's not a tradesman or gardener, so we're not going to pretend he can build you a house or landscape your garden! But he's reliable, willing to work and isn't afraid of getting dirty or doing the less glamorous jobs.

Fiona has secretarial and administrative experience and is highly sociable and organised. She's particularly suited to reception, administration, communication, organising activities and teaching.

A few things we can bring with us...

We have an FPV drone which can be used to create aerial video and social-media content for your project, property or business if that's useful.

Steve is also heavily into sim racing and we travel with a complete racing simulator setup. It can be moved into a communal area for a games night or competition.

We also have two Meta Quest 3 virtual reality headsets, which we're happy to use for games and social activities. They're suitable for groups of all sizes and for people of all ages.

We both love cooking, particularly BBQs, and would love to get involved with communal meals and social evenings.

We're happy in all sorts of environments, from busy hostels and social projects to farms, animal sanctuaries and quiet rural locations.

For us, the important thing is finding somewhere interesting where we can contribute, meet good people and have a worthwhile experience. We're not looking simply for somewhere to park the motorhome.
