Hi! My name is Ashley and I am from Wisconsin, United States. I graduated from college 1 year ago and looking for opportunities to expose myself to new cultures and places and befriend interesting people. I have worked as a nanny in the US and for various film festivals around the US. My hobbies include film, music, and literary analysis, dancing, playing instruments, swimming, writing, cooking. I love exploring everything the world has to offer and want to learn and see as much as I can!

I love languages and wish I was fluent in more languages than just English. The languages I am most interested in learning are Spanish (since I live in the US) and German (because my family immigrated to the US from Germany) but I am truly curious about all languages and would love to learn more about every language!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

In terms of education, I have bachelors degreee in Film Studies and English and a minor is general business. I have general skills in regards to electronics and computer programs. When I was in college I was the president of an environmentalist club. The event that I am most proud of organizing was our electronics recycling drive. I also went on volunteer trip with my college. This was a fantastic experience that trigger my itch to travel. During this trip, I helped renovate a community garden and build and paint an outdoor community gathering space. I love learning new skills!

I have worked various jobs over the years with children. I have worked as a camp counsler, tutor, and nanny. My years of working as a nanny has taught me many helpful housework skills, such as how to care for children and pets, how to manage a household, how have routine flexibility, and how to communicate compassionately with children and parents. Beyond this work, I have also worked as an archivist in a media archive, a film festival programmer, and film festival guest relations assistant.

I lived in Milwaukee for the past few years, but now I live with my Mom and our dog in a small town. I am currently cleaning out our house and selling things we don't need. I am also doing other homecare and renovation projects, such as painting and renovating rooms, organizing our attic, landscaping, and hanging up shelves.

Though I did not grow up on a farm, I come from a big family full of farmers. Growing up, I spent a lot of time helping my Grandma out in the pumpkin patch and her garden, riding in the tractor and combine with my Grandpa, and being around my cousins' animals and livestock. I also spent a lot of time going fishing with my dad, and love all activities that involve being around bodies of water.

Some other things I enjoy doing are cooking, baking, hosting events with my friends and family, and trying out new foods and ways of living. I am an organized person and like to have a daily schedule, but I am also good at going with the flow and adapting when things change.

I have experience traveling by myself for various film festivals I have worked at, but I would love to get more experience living in the places I travel to. I love working with and meeting new people, and I hope I can learn lots of great skills and meet interesting people through the various workaway programs I partake in.
