Farming, gardening, hiking and so many other things as long as we can be outside enjoying nature. We are travelling to meet people and learn about other cultures, habits and working methods as well.

Description

We are Arlène and Bert, a couple currently living in Belgium. I am 28 years old and grew up on a farm where we had many kinds of animals and some fruittrees. I have been working for a few years for a foundation where I am mainly preoccupied with growing plants for hedges and restoring the local cultural-historical landscape. Bert, my boyfriend, is 37 and an electromechanical. We have a big garden where we grow our own fruit and vegetables. We like to hike, work outdoors and enjoy nature. We want to learn more about ecological living and farming practices in other countries. We are also quite handy for tasks in and around the house, since we have renovated our house on our own. We are very interested in ecological ways of construction, using natural materials.

We would really like to learn Spanish. We are already practicing a little from books but there is nothing better and nicer than learning it by immersion.My mother tongue is Dutch, for my boyfriend it is French. We could teach these languages to anyone who's interested. I have a bachelor degree in modern germanic languages that I acquired in the French-speaking Université de Liège in Belgium.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

My boyfriend and I have a big garden where we grow our own fruits and vegetables. We are also quite handy for tasks in and around the house, since we have renovated our house on our own. We are very interested in ecological ways of construction, using natural materials. My boyfriend is an electromechanic and he has varied technical knowledge. For myself I have a good botanical knowledge of shrubs and trees thanks to my current job as a nursery gardener. I am very interested in learning more about other plants, like medicinal herbs. I also know a lot about sheep, horses, chickens and cows because I always used to be around them at my parent's farm.
