Hi everyone 🙋‍♂️ I am currently located in Bosnia and Herzegovina. For my next workaway experience I am interested in working on a type of farm/garden, with animals and giving back to the community.

Description

My name is Ali and I am an energetic, curious, and extremely open 25-year-old who loves people and animals. I come from Stolac, Bosnia and Herzegovina where I have a small farm (around 400 chickens and one donkey). I also have a small dog shelter (we take care of around 20 stray dogs at once). Our chickens have the best possible life ever for chickens and we sell our eggs to people who seek natural and organic eggs.

Besides this, I actively take part in my family's small business focused on planting and selling organic agricultural products (our trademark products are: pomegranate juice, eggs, olive oil, figs and a variety of fruits and vegetables). I love nature, natural greens and veggies, and creating a great environment for people and animals who need help 🐶🐱🥦🌳

I play 4 instruments: Violin, Clarinet, the alto Saxophone and the tenor Saxophone, and I have been a member a city orchestra 🎻🎷

My family and myself also organize small group tours around Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I am always in the role of a tour guide. This type of engagement is extremely important to me since I love meeting people from all over the world and showing them the beauty of my country.

Besides this, I have a bachelor's degree in international relations and diplomacy and have been working in humanitarian organizations for the past 10 years. I have worked mainly with youth with my focus being on providing them an opportunity to learn, travel and acquire valuable knowledge and skills. I have also dedicated my career to enhancing and fighting for human rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as the Western Balkans ✊
Since I was a kid I was always adventurous. I used to always climb on trees wherever I saw the opportunity and was full of energy. This has stayed with me my whole life and I decided to use this while travelling solo through Europe. I have done a solo trip to Iceland recently, and met so many amazing people, among which was a girl who has been staying in Iceland through workaway, and then I fell in love with the idea 🏃‍♂️🐒

I cant wait to meet you, learn from you and the environment you live in and I cannot wait to also share my knowledge and experiences. I think workaway is an amazing way to become richer, but not in money but in relationships, experiences, new skills and just sharing the love we as human beings have naturally in us ❤️

I come from a mixed marriage - my mum is British and my dad is Bosnian, but since I was born in London, I guess English is my mother tongue. So, I speak English extremely well and I more than capable and willing to teach it. Alongside English, I speak, maybe even better, Bosnian, Serbian, Croatian, and Montenegrin, and I am also more than happy to teach it. These languages belong to the South Slavic group of languages and it is super interesting. In terms of what languages I am interested in, I would have to say that Spanish is my favorite foreign language. I have started studying in through Babble, which is a language app. Besides Spanish I am interested in learning Italian, French and Portuguese.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a great amount of experience in gardening and general work around the house, garden or farm. My family has had a farm ever since I was a child so I have worked on it and gained valuable skills related to feeding and taking care of animals, planting fruits and vegetables, cleaning the property, fixing and creating new infrastructure and coming up with new ideas on how to enhance the environments.
My English is extremely good, since I am a native speaker (I was born and lived in London for several years). Also I know Bosnian, Serbian, Croatian and Montenegrin and I am more than capable and willing to teach you these languages. Alongside this I have 10 years of experience in projects focused on dealing with the past, transitional justice and human rights so if you are interested in finding more about these topics, I am your guy. In terms of formal education - I have completed a bachelors degree in international relations and diplomacy and I have worked for a diplomatic mission in the Western Balkans.
Above this, I have worked as a tour guide for small and large groups of people, through out Europe (Barcelona, Paris), so I am very good with people, very interactive and curios.

I like to read a lot, specifically books about self improvement as well as history books (I just finished a book about the Persian empires - amazing!). I am also interested in entrepreneurship, business and tourism. My family does small tours around Bosnia and I am always happy to welcome our guests from all around the world and show them the beauty of my country. I like sports, specifically football, but I have recently started playing tennis, and I have to say, the sport becomes more interested the more you play it. I'm definitely going to be practicing more in the coming future. I am a very sporty person in general, so hiking, rock climbing, riding a bike, running, camping, swimming, yoga, karate, basketball, fitness, these are just several things I am interested in. I am also a huge fan of working out and eating healthy. For me, eating healthy with a diet focused more of greens, really brings my mood up and I just feel good. I have also a passion towards film making and content creation. I have a small family oriented YouTube channel which documents mostly our work on the farm. I love created positive and entertaining content. And last but least I am a very family oriented person. I love my family and I always seek to spend quality time with them, help them with anything they need and work on our synergy as a team.
