Hey folks, my name is Alex and I'm an avid traveller and general life enthusiast!

I currently reside in my dear van Toto in my home country Australia, but spent the last few years travelling in Europe and parts of Africa, and upon returning to Aus found integration back into my Melbourne life to be quite challenging - so I started seeking an alternative!

It means a lot to me that I get to live in a way that aligns with my values, "vanlife" to me is more than exploration, it's a way to opt out of a system that I feel can struggle to centre humans and quells creativity - it's my little version of off grid living and I'm grateful everyday!

Spending time in off-grid communities, volunteering on organic farms, and moving through travel-centric spaces showed me how diverse this life can be, and that there are endless options for how one can choose to live. I'm excited about the prospect of exploring this in Australia, and seeing how people are diving into the unconventional in my own country!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am a deeply creative person and have adopted many outlets for this over the years, I have a bachelor of Fine Art with a major in printmaking, but have explored many different mediums. I love painting, drawing, crochet and textiles, collage (both digital and physical), and have lately been learning handpoke tattooing which has been such a beautiful process as it combines what I believe to be my two best skills - my creativity and my people skills.

I believe I am an asset in a team environment as I am a strong communicator and consistently enter new projects with enthusiasm and high morale, and I'm always eager to listen and learn - I have spent nearly 10 years in hospitality and customer facing roles, and I like to think I have a knack for people and making them comfortable. I believe in honest communication and open-mindedness.

I am not shy when it comes to getting my hands dirty, and have been involved in various off-grid/farmstay projects, and find enjoyment in physical, outdoor work. I'm no master but am comfortable with DIY projects and basic gardening, and this is an area I'd love to get a chance to expand my skills in!
