I am interested in traveling with workaway, but in periods of maximum one month. I could consider 3-4 month projects by taking a leave of absence from my job.

Hi everyone!

My name is Aintzane, I am 26 years old and I am from Spain.

I studied Sport Sciences at the University of Deusto and then I did a two-year master's degree in International Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Action. I am also a swimming teacher.

I have dedicated myself to work and continue to know the world. The more I grow the more I seek to find peace in my travels and connect with the people who are part of the country I visit. I love to do nature sports, hiking, rafting, skiing, swimming...

As an experience, I have done 5 volunteers and i spent the summer 2023 working as a horseback riding and cabin consuelor of six kids in a summer camp in the US (I can send more information and a recommendation letter if its needed).

I have been in June 2024 working as a hiking instructor in a summer camp in Switzerland.

I believe that the best way not only to learn to improve at work but also as a person is to carry out actions in which not only you contribute, but there is feedback. The children with whom I have collaborated have taught me more than I have taught them and that is the most special thing about the projects. However, for me the most important thing about volunteering is creating a bond with the people or animals you are helping.

I love to express what I see and feel when I travel, so I always carry my camera with me.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am a very patient and responsible person. Sometimes I am a bit introverted but I know how to differentiate my private life from my position in a job. I consider myself very polite, tidy, respectful and open-minded with the people I travel and work with.

I like to do things well and give the best possible response to the host who decides to put their trust in me. I value opportunities and I always try to give my best.

I am a fast learner and try to give my best feedback to the person in front of me. I am communicative and able to manage stressful or conflict situations (especially with children).

The skills that i have worked on are:

- Working in hostel/hotel: doing reception tasks (check-in, check-out, customer service) and cleaning.

- Working with children in a social project: creating an ecological garden in a small village in the Andes of Chile, creating and directing group sports activities with children from 5 to 15 years old.

- Summer camp: being the primary live-in caretaker for a cabin of six girls, instructing campers in my area of expertise which was horseback riding; planning and carrying out both large and small group activities; recording the skill development of the campers in my classes; public relations during theopening, closing and family days throughout the summer; and the general health and well-being of the campers and myself.

I am a competitive swimmer. I love the mountains, both in winter (skiing) and summer (trekking, climbing, canyoning, rafting ...).

I LOVE photography (as a hobby). I have an analog and a digital camera and they always accompany me in my adventures.
