Description
Live in your own tiny home and help a family with outdoor chores, gardening, bush regeneration, painting, fence building, beekeeping, building, or elder companion on a small rural property near Yengo and Wollemi national parks in the Hunter Valley, NSW. There's lots to do, so you can choose what interests you most.
****current priority is to convert our chicken pen into a space also suitable for goats, as we will be adding two Nigerian dwarf goats to our farm in several weeks****
Being so close to wilderness, our place would suit those wanting to enjoy bushwalking or a quiet rural lifestyle. We have six honey bee hives, two dogs and a flock of chickens and are about to embark on a large landscaping project.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

We live close to bushland and go on bushwalks regularly - so visitors would learn about the Australian bush (including wildlife and native plants).
Wallabies and other wildlife visit regularly - so guests would get a chance to experience Australian wildlife up close.
We have 5 beehives - and are happy to teach you beekeeping if that is something you are interested in learning (and if the timing is right).
Our family are active Landcare members. Guests would get a chance to join Landcare meetings (held in our home monthly) and help with tree planting.
Our home is a solar-passive sustainable home. It and the way we live would be of interest to someone wanting to experience sustainable living.
Tricia is milking goats on a nearby farm several mornings a week, and you are welcome to join her to learn about goat keeping if that interests you.Aide

Hébergement
You will stay in your own tiny home. It is a self-contained cottage with a double bed, kitchenette and bathroom. It suits a single or couple (or a small family at a squeeze. Three of us lived in there while we built our home). You can join us in the family home for dinner in the evenings and we provide breakfast and lunch for you to eat in your self-contained cottage. We also have a large bell tent we can pitch to accomodate a family.
Autres infos...
In your time off, you are close to Hunter Valley vinyards for wine tasting and nearby national parks for bushwalking.
