Description

Hello! My name is Aide. I am a 27 year old linguist, florist and caretaker, based in the beautiful Ghent, Belgium. I am half Albanian and half Dutch. I grew up in The Netherlands, but I visit my family and the mountains in Kosovo often. I have seen all of the balkans, and the people there have taught me so much. I am eager to also discover more of Europe. While traveling, I love committing my time to my passions. Amongst them are writing, crochet, drawing, painting, practicing pilates, cooking, spending time with animals, foraging for flowers, hiking, visiting markets, swimming, drinking tea, gardening and music.

I am currently living in my favorite city, Ghent. After my linguistic studies I worked office jobs. The fieldwork was very enjoyable to me, but I couldn't get used to the office culture. I found myself back in the flower shop and other practical work spaces, where I enjoy my time the best. I am currently working as a caretaker in people's homes, ranging from young mothers with babies until elderly people.

I love working with and being surrounded by nature and people. After multiple Workaway experiences in 2024 and 2025, I want to dedicate my time to experience more of what this platform has to offer. I know I can be of great help to a lot of people and luckily, I enjoy helping like nothing else. I am so excited!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

- I have a lot of experience with children; growing up with a big family, I have been raising nieces and nephews while growing up. Also professionally I have worked with (language impaired) kids, as a linguist, a babysitter, and caretaker at home. I mostly naturally find my way with children and I love spending time with them.
- I know about plants and flowers.
- Because of my studies, I have plenty of knowledge about language. For example, how a language is learned. Because of my fascination for languages, I have also always been invested in learning them. I now speak 6 languages.
- I can express myself in many artforms and have a good sense of colour, style, and cleanness.
- I am good at drawing and painting and I can teach you (or your children) too!
- Same goes for crochet! I have been doing crochet handwork since I was a kid and I have taught many of my friends.
- I enjoy working indoors as well as outdoors and cleaning gives me a sense of fulfillment. It is hard for me to concentrate in messy spaces, so I strive to prevent that from happening.
- Since my interests range very wide, I am usually very quick and forward when it comes to learning new things.
- I can cook traditional Albanian and Dutch meals.
- I have experience as a Dutch and English language tutor
