Description
Hi there! We are a family of 5: Laure, Fabien, our baby boy Esteban, and our 2 loving dogs Bambino and Gamma. In a previous life, we ran a cinema theatre and worked in a photo gallery in eastern France. With the onset of Covid, we decided it was the perfect time to take off and learn about permaculture and bioconstruction. This led us to a long journey across South America in our converted Volkswagen Kombi, stopping along the way for various workshops and volunteer experiences. We definitely left our comfortable life behind the day we discovered the beautiful valley of Las Miscas, just 30 min out of the cosmopolitan village of Samaipata.
It's been nearly two years since we settled on this stunning 15-hectare property, mostly covered in forests. We are now energy and water self-sufficient and our long-term goal is to live from syntropic farming, growing our own fruits and vegetables following the principles of agroforestry. Experimentations are already ongoing through both our vegetable garden and the greenhouse, and a large area has been made ready for our first agroforestry rows.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Aide
We mostly need help maintaining the food garden and the land, as well as setting up our agroforestry systems and multiplicating plants in the greenhouse. Depending on the season, tasks may also include pruning trees, harvesting, and processing fruits into juice and jam (currently mainly orange and jaboticaba).

We are always keen to learn, improve and share.Hébergement
We offer a nice private accomodation in an independent casita with a double bed and a kitchenette. Bathroom is shared (hot shower, dry toilet). The land also offers lovely camping spots for the more adventurous workawayers (we have a huge tent to spare!).
We eat lunch together and provide a "starter package" (homemade bread, homemade mermelade, pasta, fruits, vegetables, etc.) which will cover basic needs.
Fast WiFi, with limited consumption.Autres infos...
Samaipata truly lives up to its name. Derived from Quechua samay (to rest) and pata (in the heights), Samaipata is a charming, cosmopolitan yet authentic village of 4,000 inhabitants, located at an altitude of 1,700 meters. Situated 120 km from Santa Cruz on the road to Cochabamba or Sucre, Samaipata offers a well-deserved break on your journey. Waterfalls, vineyards, the archaeological site of El Fuerte, hikes in Amboró National Park... there’s also plenty to discover in our "pueblo"!
