I spent 3 weeks in Neuenburg cooking lunch for the students as they rehearsed for their show. It was an awesome experience. My cooking skills improved greatly, and I got to train my circus skills when the tent was free. The students themselves are lovely, and it was awesome to see their show come together over the three weeks I was there. As a
… read more circus hobbyist it was one of my favourite shows I have seen. There is equipment for almost every apparatus in the tent that you can train with. I learnt some 3 ball juggling for the first time! Robert and Birgit are super welcoming hosts, and their house is beautiful, just within the Black Forest. Birgit is also a fantastic cook. My German skills improved a lot while I was here, and everyone also speaks English so it is very flexible. If you aren’t travelling to/from the tent with Robert, public transport between the house and the tent is possible, but requires 2 connections, so you just need to plan ahead on the DB Navigator app. If you are a cyclist there is an E-Bike you can use, and the ride through the forest, and along the river in Müllheim is gorgeous. I’d never cooked regularly for a large group before, so was a little nervous before coming here, and this Workaway was an all around wonderful experience for me :)

I had a great time with Robert and Birgit! They welcomed me in their home like a family member, they are very open to feedback and are generally easy to communicate with. Honestly, they are just really great people like there should be more. The location is rather secluded, but there is beautiful nature around and lots of beautiful cities in the

This was my first workaway experience and it couldnt have been better, i was very glad to help with the circus wagon and I learnt a lot while doing so.
The host is very welcoming and explains what is needed very clearly. He has no problem if he has to repeat some explanations.
The project is very interesting, it is a initiation circus school

The time in the circus was really beautiful. You have the chance to meet some circus people, artists, teachers, students, the area is beautiful and its really special to work next to a circus tent.
Robert was always making sure we had everything we needed and he was always taking time to explain the tasks and the projects so we could have some

I went with my friend Noemi and stayed at Janas, one of the circus students and a big part on the organisation of the circus. We had a very comfy room in a tiny beautiful town 15min from the circus by bike. She is a great host!!! She worked a lot so we didn't spend much time with her but her company was always charming and welcoming, she was buying good food for us and picking us up with her car whenever we couldn't reach the house for any random reason. We felt completely home in her appartment.
We also had the chance to be in some classes at the circus, learning acrobatics, juggling and balancing. Anytime when there was space in the tent, we could use the circus instruments and tools, it was really fun :)
The work was good, they were giving us a lot of freedom with the schedules. We were mainly cooking, cleaning the tarps, organising the space and helping with the renovation of the circus wagon. Sometimes it was harder and sometimes easier but it was always with good environment, if some days we did lots of work, we would have extra free days at some point after, so they were taking good care of us and our energy.
I would completely recommend the circus, its a really good place to volunteer. I did different volunteer projects and this is on the top ones!!
Thank you again Robert and the rest of the team, I wish you all the best!!Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

Raphaele was an extremely friendly, super- nice and interested person who enriched our community for some days. She wanted to learn as much as possible about building up our big circus- caravan and showed a great enthusiasm. We were happy with her help. She is open-minded and shares thoughts and experiences she made on her trips to the far east.

If you want to meet cool and interesting people and work on nice projects, this is your place to go!
This was my very first workaway experience and I loved it! I stayed with Robert, his lovely wife Birgit and their dog for a few days. They are warmhearted people, have a wide range of interests and like to laugh so I felt immediately at home.

I was assigned helping with the isolation of the circus wagon. Robert as well as his employee Jana make sure you feel comfortable with your tasks and also take their time to answer all of your questions. There's always somebody around to help you out. Even though I just stayed for a few days I learned a lot.
Thank you Robert! I wish you and everyone else the best and I hope I'll be able to come back soon!Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.
