  Description

  We are a family of 3 living in beautiful Durango, Colorado. We take trips to Italy every year and are motivated to learn the language and teach it to our 6 year old daughter, Emma. I (Tracy) used to guide bicycle tours in Piedmont and Tuscany, so I already have a base for the language but I could still use a lot of help and would love to find someone who can help my daughter and I to practice Italian. We own and operate an Italian restaurant in town and organize community Italian conversation groups, which might be of interest to you. I would like to find someone who enjoys kids and is willing to help out around the house as well as spend time with my daughter and teach us both Italian. We also have a sweet kitty and there may be times when we go away for a few days and need a house and cat sitter.
  
  We live right by a trailhead with lots of hiking and biking trails. We are also just a few blocks from the grocery store and the trolley that can transport you downtown. We have an extra bicycle that we can loan to you if biking is your preferred mode of transportation. Durango is very bicycle friendly and it's a small enough town to get around to most places by bike.

  You will have access to all the amazing things that Durango has to offer - great hiking/biking trails, restaurants, and river sports. Durango really has it's own laid-back, friendly, outdoorsy culture and we would love to introduce you to it! This can be a great learning opportunity for someone hoping to improve their English as well. We are happy to show you around and introduce you to our friends and favorite places.

  Hébergement

  We offer a private studio apartment which is attached to our house but has its own separate entrance. This is unique for Workaway and great for those who are independent and prefer to have their own space. The studio is small and basic but it has a small kitchen and bathroom and a built in desk with good wifi. Our guests can cook their own meals in the studio but we also welcome you into our home for shared meals and gatherings.

  Durango is a beautiful mountain town (and also expensive to visit!). This would be a great way to visit a beautiful place with a free place to stay and with locals who can give you insider information on activities, trails, restaurants, etc...

  Sweet kitty who actually adopted us when she showed up at our back door last summer. She wanders free during the day but sleeps cozy in our house at night.
