German language exchange with easy going Kiwi family in New Zealand

  Description

  We are a friendly Kiwi Family of 3. Myself(Eamon), Erica and our daughter Ida. We have done a lot of travel with Erica and myself living in Germany for almost a year back in 2019. Even though we are settled back in NZ, we want to share different languages and people with our daughter(as well as ourselves!) We live about a 15 minute bike ride from the city centre, or 15 minutes from the hills where there is walking tracks or bike tracks.
  
  Erica loves cooking, walking and animals. Erica works as an occupational therapist 3 days a week and then with Ida for 2 days.
  
  I love travel! And did a bunch of backpacking a few years back. And even though I'm in a wheelchair I love sport - playing basketball, tennis and then skiing in winter. I work 4 days and then with Ida for 1 day
  
  Ida is a fun 1.5 year old, who loves to read, play and chat away in a language we don't understand
  
  We would love to share some experiences of NZ with you, and for you to share your experiences with us

  We are located a 15 minute bike ride from the city, with a cycleway at the end of our street. We are friendly and would be more than happy to take you to different spots around Christchurch, as well as invite you along to whatever we are doing locally.
  
  We are very easy going, and go with the flow type of people.
  
  I play a lot of sport, and would be happy to play some tennis or take you up skiing in the winter. I also have a kayak that you can borrow or musical instruments you can use.

  Aide

  We would just love to expose Ida to some different languages as well as us practicing our German. Mainly it will be helping out with Ida(while one of us is home) and maybe some general cleaning/housework.

  Hébergement

  We have a small 3 bedroom house with a private room available for you. The house is in the suburbs of Christchurch, but not far from the city. The house is clean, warm but it is small haha.

  Autres infos...

  There is plenty to do around Christchurch, such as go surfing in Sumner, head over to banks peninsula, music festivals, ski fields about an hour away and walks. We have public buses that run past our house for transport, or there are cycleways nearby.
