Dear Arnout, Vigdis, Iver, Stein, and Ester,
Many thanks for a wonderful stay with you. It was interesting to be part of your busy life for 1.5 weeks and to experience how you manage your day together.
We enjoyed the beautiful surroundings, the little beach, and the sublime view from your terrace. Our daytrip to Bergen was wonderful.
And we

It was fun to speak Dutch with Iver, Stein, and Ester, who are already doing quite well. We miss the game we played so often with Ester, and she is much better at it than we are. :-)
Besides cleaning and tidying up, we worked in the vegetable garden, washed Vigdis's car, did the shopping, and cooked every day. We prepared a sort of buffet from which everyone could compose their own meal, which the children really enjoyed.
All the best to all of you, and who knows, maybe until another time...?

Dear Arnout and Vigdis,
thank you so much for welcoming us this summer so openly! Saske and I really enjoyed staying with you - despite the few chicken accidents :D I hope you are making progress with all the Ikea cabinets I started.
Especially, I want to express my appreciation for giving us so many tips and driving us around. We loved borrowing

Rosendal is a beautiful place and we were so lucky with the weather as well, so we could take to ferry to Bergen and hike around the area. But it was also nice to just take in the view from your lovely porch. I hope the kids still like all the jewellery they made with Saske's help!
I really hope I can come back to Rosendal and see all the progress in the house in the future.Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

I stayed with Arnout, Vigdis and their kids for one week. It was my first workaway experience with a family and I really enjoyed it! Arnout can suggest you a lot of activities to do around Rosendal and Bergen. I did Supping, canoeing, hiking, a boattrip to Bergen and visited the stone museum! Arnout does a great job on explaining what you can do
… read more here and brings it with a lot of enthusiasm. For the works that I have done during my stay: mainly cleaning, baking, organizing and little construction works. In my free time I explored the area with another workawayer and I had fun making jewellery with the kids!
All in all I would definitely recommend staying with Arnout and his family. They are very easy going and you have your own room where you will stay.

This was the first Workaway experience for me, and it was super great! If I could have given 6 stars, I would certainly have done it!
The very first thing is that you enter a very open, enthusiastic and trustful family. The kids are open for new people, and are happy to meet you. Arnout and Vigdis are quite involved in their local community, so
… read more you get to meet a lot of people, and there is always activity and things going on in or around the house. If you need a bit of rest you can always retreat in your own room.
For me was this Workaway different then regular Workaways, since there was no strict 5h per day/ 5 days scheme. In stead was I just expected to be like an extra adult member to the family, and contribute however you can (spend time with the kids, help with the construction work, etc.).
Arnout and Vigdis really cared a lot about me and in particular also wanted me to have the best time possible. They gave me a lot of freedom (even encouraged me) to go for a hike and explore. We also had great conversations about varying topics, from use of social media and devices to the project I was working on for my university course.
It was sad that I didn't have have time to visit Rosendal another time during my exchange semester in Norway.
Thank you very much the nice time together!
Note to my non-dutch speaking Workaway friends: Vigdis and Arnout currently prefer dutch speakers, so keep that in mind before applying.Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

Wow, what an amazing experience living with this family for a couple of weeks! To start out this review - Arnout is so outgoing and helpful with advice on how best to get to their location, as well as any advice in general. He even purchased my bus ticket in advance when I was having trouble booking it online! I found out, from my experience
… read more living there, that is just the type of people Arnout and Vigdis are. They really care about your well being and want you to have good memories and experiences when you are with them. They also put total trust in me right from the start and allowed flexibility with work. If it was going to be a sunny day, they encouraged me to take a nice hike or kayak on the fjord. The work itself was always something different and there was never a boring moment at home with their kids! The kids are all super nice, but sometimes are a bit shy with new people so it might take a bit of time for them to open up ☺️. Both parents lead such busy lives, yet are really raising their children the right way: always encouraging games, learning, and interaction rather than mindless screens. Family board games were one of my favorite activities with the boys.
Lastly, I feel like this is a very unique place to have a mixed Norwegian/Dutch experience. I loved our projects in the kitchen and making Stroopwafel and Poffertjes was extremely entertaining and delicious!!
I know everyone on these reviews always says only the positive aspects, but I actually mean it! If you have the opportunity to stay here then you shouldn't hesitate!

Lucas and me stayed for one week by this amazing family. We helped with construction work in and around the house during the day and played boardgames with everyone after. I enjoyed the conversations with Arnout and Vigdis a lot and hope to meet them again! Thank you for letting us be part of your kind family:)

This was the most amazing experience of my life, and I am not even exaggerating! Vigdis and Arnout are the absolute best and so incredibly welcoming, their children are adorable, and Rosendal is absolutely breathtaking. I was only supposed to stay two weeks, but I enjoyed my time in Rosendal so much that I came back for a third week, instead of
